Thrifty Thursday: More Fun & Free Disney Activities ~ No Park Tickets Required!

Boardwalk Resort is just one of my very favorite resorts as a go to for free sights and sounds as well as free activities!

When you enter the Boardwalk from the front, the lobby is spectacular!  The eye candy of the décor is just amazing!  Your Key to the World card and/or your magic band literally open doors for freebies for you at Boardwalk Resort, even if you are staying at another Disney Resort.  (Free advice on magic bands from me:  keep your key to the world card in your pocket until magic band quirks have been completely smoothed out.  I’ve had to use my Key to the World card in some instances because the magic band just wouldn’t work at that particular location.)  I digress… With your Key to the World card/Magic Band, you can access the tennis courts at Boardwalk Resort and complimentary tennis racquets and balls are available from Community Hall, which is just a quick walk from the two courts.  If you enjoy night tennis, have fun, since both courts are lit!  Also available with your Key to the World card/Magic Band are free games, crafts and TV viewing for less than sunny day activities at the Ferris W. Eahlers Community Hall.   While you are walking around the Boardwalk Resort, be sure to watch for Hidden Mickeys!  Look up, down, all around, you never know where Mickey might be hiding!

After you have toured inside the resort, wander out to the back veranda and down the steps to the Boardwalk for a jog or casual stroll around Crescent Lake.  As you stroll around the lake, you will also have the opportunity to explore the Yacht Club, the Beach Club, and the Swan and Dolphin’s gorgeous lobbies!  You can also catch one of the boats on either side of Crescent Lake for a nice cool and relaxing break on the water!

On the Boardwalk, there are many activities going on throughout the day and evening for your enjoyment, completely free!  The Boardwalk entertainment throughout the day and evening includes magicians, comedy, as well as some games of chance for a small fee to win your honey a prize!  Atlantic dance hall has a DJ spinning tunes of the top 40 hits while you dance the night away usually with little or no cover charge (open to guests 21 years and older).  The Boardwalk is a great place to end the day watching Epcot’s IllumiNations fireworks over the water and Boardwalk shops.  If you want to see some of the Fantasmic show, just grab a spot on the bridge leading to swan and Dolphin for a great view!
