Terrific Tuesdays: Disney’s Hollywood Studios Street Shows

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a place for performances.  There are live stage shows, such as Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, parades like Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun, the Fantasmic! evening fireworks display, and then there are the street shows.  The big interactive street show is the Disney Channel Rocks show.

There are, however, all around the park, smaller interactive shows put on the the Citizens of Hollywood.  These can be seen at various times throughout the day, usually on Hollywood and Sunset Blvds.

The performers in these shows often enlist the audiences’ participation.  The Citizens and visitors bring these hilarious shows to life.  My family has been fortunate enough to see a few of these performances and even participate in one.  One of our favorites is the street cleaner act but we also love the talent shows.  These shows are never the same twice, as audience members and participation vary, which changes the performers’ jokes.  They are quite amusing and crowds tend to gather quickly.

One afternoon when our son Zachary was wearing his Perry shirt, he was approached by director Vladimir Pooey.  He began telling “Perry” that he loved him in that show on TV, and he would like to use him sometime if his agent saw fit!  Vladimir gave out acting awards to our family and took time to pose for a photo.

Please, take time to see one of these street shows, you may just become a star yourself!

Shannan is a mom that was born and raised in rural Tennessee. She tells us: “I live with my husband and 3 of our 5 children. Travis is 24 and is father to my grandbabies, Emma and baby Judson. I can’t wait to start sharing Disney with them. Dusty is 22, Clay 12, Zachary 10 and Erin is 8. I clean houses to make money to fund my magical trips. I went to Disney the first time as a teen and couldn’t wait to start introducing my own children to the magic. We took our 3 youngest in 2004 and that started it all. We have been 3 times since then and have our first Christmas trip planned for this December. Usually my parents accompany us on the trip and I have to research and plan for things that will suit various ages in our party of 7. Each time I go, I try new experiences in lodging and dining so I can share it with friends and family that seek my advice on trip planning! Disney is definitely my first choice in vacation destinations. Hopefully there is a Disney surf and turf vacation in our future!“
