It’s November now, and that means that Walt Disney World is getting ready for the holidays! Walt Disney World really transforms for the holiday season, and there are so many special things happening….many at no additional cost….that guests should definitely make room in their daily itinerary.
Disney Resort Decorations – While the focus of any vacation to Walt Disney World is the parks, during the Holiday Season you don’t want to miss the resorts too! Many have amazing themed decorations that are an attraction themselves! Especially recommended are Wilderness Lodge for the enormous Christmas tree, Animal Kingdom Lodge for the many African ornaments adorning their tree, Beach Club for the life size chocolate (!?!) carousel, and the famous gingerbread house at Grand Floridian. Plan to take a day off from the parks and check them all out.
Cinderella Castle “Dreamlights” – Every year Cinderella Castle shines and glitters even more with the addition of thousands of “dreamlights” that make the beautiful castle simply breathtaking. Plan your evenings….and photos….accordingly.
Candlelight Processional – Beginning November 25, Epcot hosts this traditional telling of the story of Christmas with a celebrity narrator accompanied by a full orchestra and choir. Showtimes are at 5:00 pm, 6:45 pm, and 8:00 pm nightly . This show takes place at the America Gardens Theater and is included with park admission. Arrive early for the best seating, or consider booking a Candlelight Processional Dining Package, which includes lunch or dinner at select Epcot restaurants and reserved seating for the Candlelight Processional.
Holidays Around the World – Also at Epcot, storytellers throughout World Showcase share tales with guests about holiday traditions from Christmas trees to Chinese New Year. The storytellers also begin appearing on November 25 – check a Times Guide at the park for specific show times.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! – New this year at Hollywood Studios is this Santa-sized spectacular, jam-packed with special effects, holiday music and fireworks. Featuring traditional holiday tunes, state-of-the-art projections from Disney Animation classics, special effects, fireworks and even a little snow, it’s a spectacular evening celebration that you will want to plan to see.
While any season at Walt Disney World is a great time to visit, at no time is it more magical than during the Holidays. Take time to explore the sights and sounds of the season!
