Spring is my absolute favorite time of the year. The Earth seems to awake from winter slumber. Early mornings of birds singing, and days filled with visions of flowers in bloom, its absolute beauty all around.
I’ve been outdoors, planting away in my yard, feeling somewhat inspired by my most recent trip a couple of weeks ago to Walt Disney World. From March 7 – May 20, the International Flower & Garden Festival is taking place. It is an annual spring event, held at the Epcot theme park (throughout both Future World and World Showcase), and is presented this year by HGTV.
Some of the beautiful things you can expect to see:
Over 100 Topiaries, from Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, and the list goes on and on.
Beautiful scenic, colorful, floral displays laid out in breathtaking carpet style, as well as floating arrangements in the various waters throughout the park, and I even spotted one in an old clawfoot tub! The imagination and talent of this year’s designers is outstanding.
Bambi’s Butterfly House, which contains numerous species of butterflies, is filled with beautiful flowers and topiaries, and even has educational teaching tools, displaying the life cycle of a butterfly.
As if all this wasn’t enough, there’s also themed weekends, fun spots for kids, Flower Power Concert Series, and educational presentations/expert advice from HGTV, DIY designers, and Disney’s own gardening experts.
If you’ve never visited during this Festival, it’s a must. I realized once I arrived home, that even though I took quite a few pictures, it wasn’t enough; and the ones I did take, didn’t do the awesome sights any justice.
Make your plans to attend this Festival. Contact Nancy to plan your vacation now, before this spectacular event is gone.

DeAnna, along with her husband and teen-age son, lives in Wiggins, Mississippi, and has a passion for all things Disney. She is always eager to share the knowledge she has gained from her many trips to Walt Disney World, and has helped numerous people in their vacation planning to realize it’s not an unattainable dream. Her must-dos on every trip are Pirates of the Caribbean, Rockin’ Roller Coaster & a stolen moment of quiet with her “Boyz” (as she affectionately calls them) having a pastry from Boulangerie in Epcot World Showcase’s France. Disney is so much a part of her life, that she & her husband were married in front of Cinderella’s Castle, and she says it doesn’t get any more magical than that……
