EPCOT is my favorite park and where I spend most of my time. One of the main reasons is IllumiNations! This fireworks/fire show is one of a kind, partly due to the giant earth that is floated out each day for the finale at the end of the night!
During the day, this “barge” is floated out on the river between Africa Outpost and China. If you haven’t encountered it, try to be in this area around 5 each evening. Bet you didn’t realize the entire walkway is a draw-bridge and raises to allow this tall earth float on out from his daytime parking place.
In all the years, I have been going to Walt Disney World, IllumiNations always brings out the emotions, the tears, the smiles and lots of grins! The show takes you from when this earth was born, to the triumphs of Life to the Hope for the Future. All while centering on the earth globe as it blossoms like a lotus flower! It is quite the site to behold!
Where ever you are along World Showcase there is plenty to see, but be warned – don’t just sit on the bench back from the fence around the lagoon, because there will be lots of people standing up in front of you before the show starts. If you are lucky enough to snag a patio seat in Rose & Crown, you will have a front row seat to experience seeing IllumiNations.
Is IllumiNations one of you favorites? Where is your favorite place to enjoy the show?
