The are many things that I love about World Showcase in Epcot, at Walt Disney World. One of them happens to be the art and architecture depicted in each country. With respect for each country’s culture, heritage and traditions, and that Disney attention to detail, the Imagineers have provided some true wonders. “Look up and look down!” That is what we are often told when visiting Walt Disney World, because there are so many wonderful details….little touches added by the architects, designers, and Imagineers….that are literally everywhere! And most of us are so focused on the rides, attractions, shows, food, people, lines, our tired feet, the hot sun etc. etc. …..that we honestly just miss some of the coolest things that Disney has to offer!

Those of us who live “up north” will appreciate this view from Epcot’s World Showcase, taken a few years ago on New Year’s Day. Yes, January. As we get ready for a big snowstorm here in the mid-Atlantic this coming weekend, the sight of roses blooming outdoors in January seems like it’s from another world. Although, I guess it kind of is another World! 🙂

I just love watching the Fountain of Nations in Epcot’s Future World. It dances to music. It is illuminated with the sun by day and magical lighting at night. And if you stand *just right* when it’s hot out….well it can be quite refreshing! Read more

Everyone who visits Walt Disney World has a favorite nightime show. For me, while I enjoy Fantasmic, and love Wishes, my favorite hands down is IllumiNations.
The current version began during the Millenium Celebration in 2000….which means that it is 15 years old now. Nothing stays at Disney World forever, so I know it’s only a matter of time before this amazing show is Disney history. And I’m sure that what will take it’s place will be wonderful too. But there will always be a special place in my heart for these beautiful Reflections of Earth.
