Disney with Little Ones: To Tell or Not to Tell?

12240919_10101894709578884_3078307551306772096_oOur next Disney vacation is still pretty far away, so I’ve got an important decision to make. We’ve taken our children on 2 Disney vacations so far and I’m really excited about our next trip. They’ll be 6 and 7 years old by then so it will be a much different experience than the ones when they were 2 & 3 and then 4 & 5. With the last 2 trips, I excitedly shared every detail of our planning with them as I could hardly contain my own excitement. Next time, I’m debating keeping it a secret. Since we haven’t booked our next trip or officially started planning, there’s still time to opt for keeping it a secret. To tell or not to tell?  Read more

Cast Member’s Corner: What Time is the 3:00 Parade?

As a Cast Member I’ve heard all types of questions.   Things like, “Where is the closest bathroom” to “What time is the three o’clock parade” (yes people really do ask that, and you can now get a shirt that says it).  These are the kinds of questions that Guests will ask because they feel they are easy for the Cast Members to answer.  But Cast Members can answer so much more then that. Cast Member’s Corner: Waiting in Those Disney Lines

If you’re headed to Disney World, you’re probably excited to go to the parks and get on all your favorite rides, but you’re not looking forward to the lines.  Well the Cast Members don’t want you to wait on those lines either.  They’re trying their hardest to get you on as quickly and effectively as they can.  If you are stuck on a long line near a Cast Member ask them if they know any trivia.  A lot of times the Cast Members have trivia about the park or their ride, thinking about the answers could make your time pass a lot faster!  Also take a good look at the decorations and read carefully, everything was decorated that way for a reason!  Cast Members also may be able to let you know if there are any hidden Mickey’s on their attraction and where they might be. 11934544_10101792302278934_1313827100536654710_oWay back when I was a cast member, I thought it a little indulgent and over-the-top to see every other child walking around with a ridiculously overpriced battery-operated misting fan. Each kid had to have their own and eventually, some unfortunate parent ended up carrying several of them. If the parent wasn’t carrying the bottles, kids were swinging them around, hitting people or merchandise. Unsuspecting guests inevitably got sprayed when they least expected it. It was one of those “when I’m a parent I’ll never…” things.  Read more

Terrific Tuesday: Ever Changing Disney Experience!

10506889_806086196109251_5513713240655272048_oFor those of us who don’t get a chance to visit the most Magical Place on Earth very often, it can be quite intimidating each trip. I haven’t been in 3 years and recently started planning a trip for late fall. Oh my – the changes with the Magic Bands and Fast Passes is enough to overwhelm anyone. If it wasn’t for the talent of my Disney Travel Agent, Nancy with The Affordable Mouse, I would be very confused! Read more
