One of my goals on my visits to Walt Disney World is to notice the details. Some are small, and some are pretty big…but fun, beautiful, and interesting details are everywhere at the Disney parks. “Look up and look down!” That is what we are often told when visiting Walt Disney World, because there are so many wonderful details….little touches added by the architects, designers, and Imagineers….that are literally everywhere! And most of us are so focused on the rides, attractions, shows, food, people, lines, our tired feet, the hot sun etc. etc. …..that we honestly just miss some of the coolest things that Disney has to offer!

Those of us who live “up north” will appreciate this view from Epcot’s World Showcase, taken a few years ago on New Year’s Day. Yes, January. As we get ready for a big snowstorm here in the mid-Atlantic this coming weekend, the sight of roses blooming outdoors in January seems like it’s from another world. Although, I guess it kind of is another World! 🙂

One of the the things I love about the Land in Epcot, is how light-filled and airy the space is. It seems to celebrate not only the land we stand on, but the sky above it as well, emphasizing the ties the each has to the other. So when entering this building, it seems completely appropriate then, to see these whimsical balloons, soaring overhead, on their way to who-knows-what magical place.
