Top 4 Things to Know When Visiting America’s Canyons
I’ve wanted to visit the Grand Canyon for as long as I can remember, so planning our recent visit to America’s “canyon country” was something that I was super excited about, and a true bucket list vacation for me and my husband. Still, I wasn’t prepared for how much I would fall in love with this part of the U.S. Who would have ever thought this beach-loving, water-loving, surf-and-sand-loving girl would fall in love with giant mountains of rock? As we have told many since our return, America is truly beautiful and seeing the incredible canyons of the southwest should be something that everyone does at some point in their lives.

See the USA: The Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia
Growing up in Maryland, outside of Washington D.C., I always took for granted all that the Maryland and Virginia “eastern shore” – the area of these states on the “other” (eastern) side of the Chesapeake Bay – had to offer. It wasn’t until I was an adult, speaking to folks from all parts of the U.S. who all raved about what a lovely part of the country it was, that I really began to appreciate what a true gem the Eastern Shore is. “It’s so beautiful and peaceful” and “I would love to go back” were frequent comments that I heard from visitors, echoing those of Captain John Smith who, upon discovering this region 400 years ago, wrote that “heaven and earth never agreed better to frame a place for man’s habitation.” If you’ve never heard of the Eastern Shore, or have heard of it and wondered what it’s all about – and especially if you’re looking for a wonderful place to visit in the USA – today’s blog is for you. What is the Best Way to See the USA?
When you picture the perfect vacation, what do you see? Chances are the pictures that come to mind are beautiful scenery, wonderful hotels, amazing food, exploring new places and seeing new things, and above all else, memories that last a lifetime. What you may not picture though, is everything that goes into organizing this perfect, and stress-free, vacation.
Which brings me to today’s post about the “best way to see the USA”. You can pick your destination and begin to plan, spending hours researching everything there is to know, reading hundreds of reviews online for hotels and dining options, figuring out how you’re going to get there (and if you want to see multiple destinations, how you’re going to get from one to the next), all the while wondering what you’ve missed, and if you’re paying too much. And then when you get there, you can spend more hours waiting in lines, hoping you get to see the things that were important to you, hoping you don’t get lost, and trying not to be disappointed when that hotel that looked amazing online, hasn’t actually been renovated in years.
Vacations are much-needed opportunities for us to unwind, explore, spend precious time with our families and loved ones, and create lifelong memories. They are investments, both in time and in money, and as with all investments, should be made wisely. The good news is there are two things you can do to make a wise investment in your vacation plans to see America: Read more
