No one does Halloween like Disney World! Disney’s Halloween celebration is on now through October 31, 2014! If you are at Disney World during the month of October, don’t miss Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP)!
The park closes to all except party ticket holders so lines are almost nil; there’s traditional Trick-o-Treating at special stations and Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is not to be missed! Psssttt… The Disney Villains are hosting a wickedly sinister soiree, serving devilish desserts in the majestic halls of Cinderella’s Royal Table (additional cost for this event in addition to MNSSHP ticket, $99). The special PhotoPass Magic shot during the MNSSHP party has a special ghoulish surprise to only be revealed when you see your PhotoPass magic picture. Be sure to stay for the Happy Hallowishes Fireworks show – you know no one does fireworks magic like Disney! Grab a map so you can find all the special trick or treat stations! Speaking from experience buy your MNSSHP tickets early to get the night you want. October 31 is already sold out! Ticket prices range from $58 to $77 for adults; children $53 – $72 (always — + tax), prices vary the closer the calendar moves to Halloween.
Now if Halloween doesn’t send chills down your back, go to Epcot! The Food and Wine Festival is going full blast until November 11, 2014! Your park ticket is all you need to attend the Food and Wine Festival! More than 100 wineries, breweries and cuisines from all over the world are setup in kiosks to purchase samples of their wares ($4.00 – $8.00) as you walk through the world showcase. At the Food and Wine Festival, you can also enjoy the Eat to the Beat Concert Series with a different performer or group for your listening pleasure at 5:30 pm, 6:45 pm and 8:00 pm at the America Gardens Theater.
There are lots of new sights and smells at Food and Wine this year: Farm Fresh Marketplace is replacing Florida Local Marketplace which will be serving some delicious dishes; an interactive challenge event, Boot Camp Series (more info soon!); Food for Thought is a celebrity cookbook event only on Friday mornings; and some celebrity chefs will be making appearances, Warren Brown, Paula DaSilva, Jamie Deen, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, and John Stewart, plus others! Grab a map as you enter Epcot so you don’t fill up on samples before you get to one you really want to try! There are tons of educational demonstrations, seminars and talks going during the Food & Wine Festival! Check out the schedule for these to sharpen your culinary skills so you can take the tastes of Disney home with you! Epcot chefs and regional wineries have paired up to expand your tasting experiences to exploding tastebuds by pairing up Mediterranean, Japanese, Moroccan , and Italian cuisines and wines in the World Showcase!
