I’m so excited about this new column! I get to discuss all the special events happening each month at our favorite place ~ Walt Disney World! No one does any season like Disney but Disney World just shines with color in the spring! The flowers are so beautiful at Disney in the spring there is a special festival to show them off!
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival (March 5- May 18) features over thirty million blooms on half million plants, including topiaries, floating mini-gardens, and too many to count butterflies!
Some of my favorite HGTV design celebrities, Taniya Nayak, Amy Matthews, John Gidding, and David Bromstad are the April host for seminars in are hosting seminars in the Festival Center from Friday through Sunday weekly.
Then rock on with Flower Power concerts featuring popular bands in the open America Gardens Theatre weekly Friday through Sunday with three shows: 5:00 pm, 6:45 pm, and 8:00 pm. April’s entertainment includes Paul Revere & the Raiders, Village People, The
Grass Roots, and Herman’s Hermits! After enjoying the sights and smells of spring, indulge in any of the 11 Outdoor Kitchens with samples and exciting new beverages.
Easter is celebrated in grand style at Disney World. Easter Brunch is held at the Epcot World Show Place, between Canada and the United Kingdom pavilions. Regular Epcot admission is required. Reservations can be made for holiday meals up to 180 days in advance or you can ask your Disney travel agent to do it for you.
Religious services are held in the Fantasia Ballroom at the Contemporary Resort: Catholic Mass at 8:00 am and 10:15 am; Protestant services at 9:00 am. Although you cannot parkat the Contemporary for services, the monorail, boat, and shuttle buses all serve the Contemporary resort.
Magic Kingdom usually has “meet and greet” with Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny at Bunny Lane next to City Hall. Mr. & Mrs. Bunny are also featured in a “pre-parade” before the scheduled Magic Kingdom Festival of Fantasy parade at 3:00 pm with butterflies, flowers and dancing hippos!
NEW!!! Epcot is hosting daily Easter Egg hunts from April 10-20! Maps and stickers are available for $4.95 plus tax at Heritage Manor (American Adventure Pavilion), Disney Traders, International Gateway, Pin Central, and Port of Entry. Returning your map to Disney Traders (Epcot), allows you to participate in an “egg-scramble” and pick up a special surprise!
Be sure to check at the front desk if you are staying onsite to see which Disney hotels are hosting egg hunts, egg decorating, and/or “meet and greet” characters decked out in their Easter finery on Easter morning! Last but not least, the chefs at Grand Floridian Resort are displaying elaborately decorated edible Easter Eggs in the lobby April 4-22, 2014

Leigh Anne, originally from Mississippi, lives in North Alabama with her husband and a menagerie of furry kids (FIDS), including dogs, cats, exotic birds, fish and a lionhead rabbit. They have made an annual trip back to Disney to celebrate their anniversary every year since. Since they own a piece of the mouse with their Disney Vacation Club (DVC), some years they go twice! She also plans to be the grandmother that introduces all her grandchildren to Disney World first. She has a great start ~ 2 out of 3 so far!
