Park Hopping is Back at Walt Disney World

Park hopping has returned to Walt Disney World – but things are a bit different from how Park Hoppers worked in the past. Here’s what you need to know about how to park hop now:

  1. Make a Disney Park Pass reservation for the first park you want to visit, using a ticket that includes Park Hopper benefits.
  2. Confirm Park Hopper hours on DisneyWorld.com. Park Hopper hours will start at 2PM each day and end at park close. Park Hopper hours could start earlier at a later date, depending on the day and park.
  3. Visit your first park of the day with your Disney Park Pass.
  4. When it’s time, visit another park! Please note that the ability to visit another park will be subject to the park’s capacity limitations – meaning you’ll need to make sure that the park you wish to “hop” to have availability.

There are a few things to keep in mind. First, flexibility will be important and it will be a good idea to have a “second choice” for the park you wish to “hop” to, in case there isn’t availability (although it’s important to note that this hasn’t actually happened yet – but it’s always a theoretical chance). Secondly, regarding Hollywood Studios and boarding passes for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: only guests with a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios (meaning, the first park of the day) will be able to experience this attraction. Guests visiting from another theme park will not be able to request to join the virtual queue. So in other words, if you wish to experience Rise of the Resistance (and you DO want to do this ride!), you will need to plan for this park to be your first park of the day, so that you can make a park reservation for it.

There’s a lot to look forward to at Walt Disney World in 2021, and it’s exciting news that park hopping has returned!
