Tidbits of Disney News Just for You
Hello Mouse Fans!! Can you believe summer is over and Fall is already upon us? At Disney World, the Fall season brings LOTS of exciting events to make your time at the parks even MORE MAGICAL!!
One of our favorites…Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party…started on September 1st and runs through October 31st on select nights from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM. If you’ve never attended this Halloween Party, let me tell you…it is a MUST DO!! What could be better than wearing costumes and Trick-or-Treating in the Magic Kingdom??? And Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade is SO much fun…with spooky floats carrying your favorite Disney Characters…being led in by the Headless Horseman himself…you won’t want to miss it!! The Happy Hallowishes Fireworks and the Disney Villains will continue to entertain you as the night goes on! MNSSHP is a separate ticketed event and tickets can be purchased ahead of time at a discounted price on select nights.
This year, another spooky addition (a separate ticketed event also) has been added to the fun…the Villains’ Sinister Soiree: A Wicked Takeover of Cinderella Castle!! Lady Tremaine and her villainous friends will be hosting a wickedly decadent dessert party in the halls of Cinderella’s Royal Table! Besides enjoying delicious desserts, watching wickedly live entertainment and mingling with your favorite Disney Villains, you receive preferred viewing for Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade as well as preferred viewing of the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks Spectacular!! And to top it off, you will receive an autograph card and a souvenir Maleficent dragon cup to take home!! My hubby and I are attending both events, and let me tell you, we are BEYOND excited!!
Another favorite Fall event is Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival that runs from September 19th until November 10th. The Festival gives guests a chance to experience many different foods and drinks from around the world, so come hungry and thirsty!! You can even use your snack credits on the dining plan, which for us is a great way to use them as we usually have a few of those credits left at the end of our trips! There are also wine seminars, culinary demonstrations, TV personalities giving tips and tricks for the chefs in your house, so lots of fun for everyone! And in the evenings, you can enjoy the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, with concerts by The Pointer Sisters, Rick Springfield, Air Supply, Smash Mouth, Boyz II Men and many, many more!!
This year there will even be an after hours street party, ”Epcot Food and Wine Late Nights LIVE”, taking place each Thursday night starting September 23rd from 9:45 PM until 1 AM!! The cost is $79 plus tax and you will get to sample 6 dishes from several Food and Wine Kiosks while listening to a live DJ and other musical performances. The street party will take place between the United Kingdom and World Showcase Plaza. Epcot sounds like THE place to be!!
And let’s not forget Hollywood Studios: the ever popular “Frozen Summer Fun – LIVE” which was to end on September 1st has been extended until September 28th!! YAHOO!! The only thing that will change for the Fall season is that the Frozen Fireworks will only take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 5th through the 28th. We are looking forward to meeting Anna, Elsa, Olaf and the gang from Frozen!!! We are going to “Let It Go” and HAVE A BLAST!! And if you can’t visit in September, no worries, the Frozen Singalong and Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Frozen Funland have been extended…..indefinitely!
Speaking of Frozen, Disney will be starting construction on a brand new “Frozen” attraction at the Norway Pavilion at Epcot. The new attraction, which replaces Maelstrom, will take Guests to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favorite moments and music from the film. The pavilion will also include a royal greeting location with Anna and Elsa. These “Frozen” elements are great additions to the Norway Pavilion, which showcases the country and region that inspired the film. PLUS, The wintry wonder and magic of “Frozen” will also enchant Magic Kingdom this holiday season. Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf join the festive holiday procession, “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,” along with a flurry of skaters, skiiers, and ice cutters from the Kingdom of Arendelle.
And last but certainly not least, there is a new addition to the Gorilla family in Animal Kingdom…a bouncing baby boy!! The yet to be named baby was born on August 7th and joins his mother, Azizi, and his father, Gino, in the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. The new little one is the 4th gorilla born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!! Welcome to the world Little Prince!!
Until next time Mouseketeers…have a MAGICAL weekend…and Sweet Disney Dreams!!

As Julie says: “I am addicted to all things Disney! 🙂 I grew up in Vernon, TX and now reside in Waller, TX (outside of Houston) on a small ranch with my hubby and all of our animals who we affectionately call “The Zoo Crew”! We have been married almost a year now (together for 7) and have 5 children and 9 grandchildren between the 2 of us. We knew we were meant for each other when we discovered we were both Disney fanatics! 🙂 I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was 6 and fell in love with the magic of Disney. Now, my husband and I go to Disney World every 2 years either with friends or with whichever kid and grandkid are available to go at the time. We spend a lot of time planning our trips to ensure that everyone has the most memorable time while there, so that is what I will be writing about and hopefully give you some ideas to try for YOUR next Disney vacation. I am very excited to be a part of The Affordable Mouse team!”
