As you read this, I’m counting down my hours and minutes that I have left at work before I begin our next trip to Walt Disney World! We will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge- Kidani Village. We have previously stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge- Jambo House which was so much fun!
Although it was a bit confusing finding the entrance, we loved pulling up to Jambo House where we were greeted by a friendly Cast Member. The lobby is huge with an extremely large African art collection, indoor fire pit, sitting room, and gift shop. If you go through to the back of the lobby towards the decorated floor to ceiling windows, there is an outdoor fire pit with oversized rocking chairs.
The Victorian Falls bar is located between the entry level and the ground floor while the restaurants Boma, Jiko, and Mara (counter service) are at the ground level. The pool and gym are also on this level.
Heading outside away from the fire pit is where the savanna and animals are found! There are walking paths with little crevices available to watch the animals. When we were there, I remember seeing a stuffed safari Mickey along one of the paths. We were commenting on it when one of the African animal guide cast members hushed us. He pointed to a small boy with a tracking device and said, “He’s tracking him.” What a neat activity for the kids. 😎
Now for our room, we were not lucky enough to get a Savannah view. We had a parking lot/tree view. But I did enjoy that along the hallways, there were large picture windows overlooking the savannah because the hallways were long, especially after a day in the parks. Hopefully one of these trips we will get a chance to wake up to the giraffes.
Check back next month for my review of Kidani. Have a Magical Day!
