Disney Cruise Line has a reputation as a family destination, since they provide experiences for guests of all ages, but what many often don’t realize is how many adult-exclusive spaces and activities are available on Disney Cruise Line.
First of all, adults will find that there are plenty of spaces for them to relax. The Quiet Cove Pool is an adults-only pool area with whirlpool spas and plenty of deck loungers for relaxing with a good book. Next to the Quiet Cove Pool area is the Cove Café, where adults can grab drinks or specialty coffee and catch up on the news.
For even more relaxation, there’s also Senses Spa, which offers a range of spa services from massage to facials to hair styling. The spa also offers one of my favorite places, the Rainforest Room, with a variety of saunas, spa showers, heated loungers, and whirlpool spas – offerings vary depending on the ship. Senses Spa also has an adjacent adults-only fitness center, which is complimentary.
Next, for adults that like to spend the evening out, there’s an adults-only lounge and nightclub district on each ship with several bars or clubs to choose from. One of my favorites is the quirky Pink champagne bar on the Disney Dream.
While we very much enjoy the main dining options available on the ship, there are also upscale, adult-exclusive dining options available. Palo, which highlights Italian cuisine, is available on all four ships, and Remy, which highlights French cuisine, is available on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. These dining experiences require reservations and do come at an extra charge, but are wonderful places for adults to have a luxurious meal and celebrate a special occasion.
If you’re sailing on a Caribbean or Bahamian cruise, you’ll likely be visiting Disney’s Castaway Cay, the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas. The island has an adult-exclusive beach, Serenity Bay, with a nearby bar and dining area just for adults.
Adults traveling on Disney Cruise Line will also want to check their Personal Navigator each day for adult-exclusive activities scheduled throughout the cruise, from cooking classes to wine tastings to yoga. Special events, such as Halloween on the High Seas and Marvel Day at Sea, also typically have an adults-only late-night event.
