Disney’s PhotoPass Service

Disney has created the ultimate way to capture your memories around Walt Disney World with Disney’s PhotoPass. This photo service allows the entire party to be in each picture rather than always missing that one person who is the one taking the photographs. In this way, you get to have everyone in your party standing in front of Cinderella Castle or Spaceship Earth – or many other places around the parks as well. There are PhotoPass photographers located at the entrance of each park, and throughout the parks as well – including at the Character greeting areas.

PhotoPass can capture your pictures even if a photographer isn’t there. There are a number of PhotoPass locations at various rides as well!  You may get a photo of you and your family as you take the plunge on Splash Mountain, when you’re testing your car design on Test Track, taking aim with your laser to defeat Evil Emperor Zurg in Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin or whizzing down the mountain at Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train to name just a few places that PhotoPass pictures may magically be takend!

A PhotoPass exclusive that are super fun are the Magic Shots that you won’t realize happened, until you look at your photos though My Disney Experience. One of our favorite Magic Shots was discovering that we hadTinker Bell standing in our hand. These unexpected magic shots can appear when you least expect it, but don’t hesitate to ask your PhotoPass Photographer if they have any Magic Shots as there are new ones being added all the time, with many of them directly related to the season or holiday when you’re visiting.

A fairly new addition to the Disney PhotoPass Service are the studios in Disney Springs where Guests can pose in front of a variety of scenic backdrops, putting you in all kinds of different scenes without leaving the studio.

So how does PhotoPass work? First of all (and most importantly), each time you have your memory captured, or ride an attraction, be sure and wear your Magic Band, so your pictures can be downloaded to your account. If you’re have a PhotoPass photographer take your picture, he/she will scan your Magic Band at the end. If you’re on a ride though, there isn’t anything to do other than have fun, as your Magic Bands get automagically scanned while you enjoy the ride. Once your photos are scanned, they will appear in your My Disney Experience account.

In order to see your pictures each day, be sure and check your My Disney Experience for full access to all your memories! Photos are available for a 45 day period after being added, so if you only wanted a few photo, be sure and check them out quickly before they disappear! Once you log into your account, you’ll be able to decide on your favorites and then purchase the downloads at a cost of $16.95 each.

Obviously, if you want to purchase a number of photos this can get pricey very quickly – and you’ll have to pick and choose your favorites. The good news is that if you would like to keep all your photos, you can think about purchasing the Memory Maker photo package. We will have more on that next week. Stay tuned!

Find out how the FREE services of a Disney World travel agent can make planning your Disney vacation simple and STRESS FREE!

Debbie and her husband live in Chattanooga, TN. They both are huge Disney fans and try to visit the most Magical Place on Earth at least once a year, if possible. They are enjoying taking each of their now 10 grandchildren and hope to also take their great granddaughter in the near future. One of their favorite trips has been visiting Disney with adults only, including one trip when their son proposed to his girlfriend. Each trip begins with the planning, which can take up to a year, beginning with how to get the grandkids excited about their upcoming trip. They have surprised some of them the day before they left, while the latest one had “presents” every 10 days starting at 90 days all leading up to an exciting trip with her parents along also. Their philosophy on Disney Trips? “Each trip is completely different, like visiting Walt Disney World for the first time.” They both enjoy all that Disney has to offer, but enjoy Animal Kingdom and EPCOT the most. It is their goal that everyone who visits Walt Disney World has a magical trip with lots of memories to last a life time.
