Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of October 17, 2011

Howdy Disney Friends and Happy Weekend! It’s that time you have been waiting for all week: our Disney blog round-up! And Rachel found some great posts this week: some news, some rumors, and lots of fun! So here we go! Take it away Rachel!

Disney Confidential on Chip and Co has some news: It looks like the Polynesian will get a make-over in 2013. What do you think about this? Couponing to Disney shared something that is exciting: Free wi-fi has arrived at some Disney resorts. Wish we had this when we stayed last spring for changing/making reservations, checking wait times, etc. while still at the resort.

PhotoPass is one of my favorite services at Disney! A great way to make sure we get great pictures of the whole family. (Order in advance though, the price tag can be hefty!) The assortment of products also makes for easy gift shopping! Disney Babies Blog shared her recent experiences.

Celebrating a birthday while at the parks? Meet the Magic has a few ways to make it even more magical!

Courtesy of the Disney Parks Blog, we were reminded that the Railroad at Disney World is a great way to have a little “down time” without leaving the park, and a great way to see more of the park. Trains were also a favorite of Walt Disney himself.

It’s that time of year again! Disney has released their list of top toys for this holiday season and recently shared by Chip and Co. I did shop for some of these yesterday online and they were not yet available at Disney Store, but am keeping my eyes open.

Perhaps the most frequently asked question: how can I save money on my Disney vacation? There are LOTS of ways and Chip and Co. discusses a few!

The gratuities caught us by surprise on our first trip. I don’t remember if we left anything for mousekeeping, but we did have the gratuity charged to our room at every table service meal because of our party size. It is a good idea to keep these “hidden” costs in mind when budgeting your trip, as Chip and Co. reminds us.

Lastly, in case you missed it, stop by WDW Fan Zone for some thoughts on bringing teens and young adults to Disney World…courtesy of someone you may know. 🙂

That’s it for this week everyone! Have a magical weekend!

Rachel is a Virginia native who now lives in Louisiana. She is married with two children, ages 5 and 3. After dreaming and wishing for several years, her family had their very first Disney vacations this year and are now addicted to researching and planning—whether for themselves or for others.
