Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of May 23, 2011

Happy Saturday and Happy Memorial Day weekend to all of our U.S. friends! As we head into this holiday weekend that also is the unofficial beginning of summer, we honor those of our armed forces who have given their lives in defense of our nation. However you are celebrating this weekend, I hope it’s a wonderful one! Enjoy the cookouts, and to those of you traveling…stay safe!!

Oh, and when you have a minute or two, enjoy this week’s Disney blog posts! 🙂

Starting things off this week are the friendly folk at Chip and Co. Jodi had a great article about something that comes to everyone’s mind in the summer: That’s a Lot of Water! Disney Pools and Parks. And then Melissa reminded us how much fun it can be to learn at the Disney parks: Teaching History Through the Parks: Disney Hollywood Studios and Teaching History Through the Parks: Epcot. Lastly, Tricia shared some very helpful information for those of you with little ones: Disney World Planning 101: Know the Height Requirements for Rides

Destinations in Florida offered some thoughts about Where to Eat at Disney’s Hollywood Studios?

For those of you who are new to Disney World, you will want to read this informative article from Disney World Basics: Walt Disney World PhotoPass guide

Disney Guru continued their fascinating series this month on Epcot with Epcot Tidbits and Lost Legacies of Epcot. I have to say, I have learned a lot of interesting things!

In honor of Memorial Day, I had to include this special tribute to our armed forces from Disney Parks Blog: Create a Memorable Moment: Thank a Soldier, Please stop by to leave a comment.

Our friends at WDW Fan Zone as always share some of the most interesting posts of the week. Kelly shared why Disney To Do Lists are a Must and then Marc provided some beautiful photos of Everything Pop Century! as well as a sneak peek into some of the designs for the new Art of Animation resort that is under construction. Don’t miss this: the rooms are fantastic! 🙂

Finally, I shared my thoughts over on Chip and Co. about The Best Time of Year to Visit Disney World. If you are planning your first visit….be sure to read this. 🙂

That’s it for this week everyone! Have a wonderful weekend!

I enjoyed the article about The Best Time of Year to Visit Disney World. I agree that summer is brutally hot and humid. If you have to visit then, plan to visit the parks early, leave mid day for a break / nap, then return and stay late. I think that the time in early December is great for a visit – excellent weather, lower crowds, and great Christmas decorations.

Totally agree that if you can go in early December it is a super time to go! Summer can be rough…but with a plan for lots of A/C and pool time, it’s manageable. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
