I have mentioned in the past that one of my favorite “hidden” spots at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is The Writer’s Stop….a place that I love to go for a little peace and quiet while at the parks (yes, it IS possible to do that!). Terrific Tuesdays: Fantastic Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! is one of my favorite night time fireworks shows at Walt Disney World.  This show is located at the end of Sunset Blvd. in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The 6,900 seat amphitheater is made of metal benches and has two shows a night on select evenings.  Be warned that sitting near the front could get you wet. There are fireworks, water effects, live characters, cannon explosions and balls of fire.  The water effects show scenes from the movie Fantasia on large water curtains.  Characters display scenes from popular Disney movies, like Pocahontas, and show the battle of good vs. evil.   Read more

I have shared in the past that I am a certifiable Ride Wimp. And apparently, as I have found out since sharing my guilty little secret, there are more than a few of us out there…..TONS as a matter of fact. 🙂  Who knew?

But it’s not like I am *no* fun at all at Disney World. I may be a Ride Wimp, but I can get some thrills at Disney World too. Celebrating a Disney Birthday….and Paying it Forward

Just over three years ago I had this crazy idea to start a blog about Disney World….because I love to write and love Disney World more. At that time, who would have ever thought that my little blog would introduce me to thousands of “Disney Friends”, and ultimately open the door to being able to follow my dream of becoming a Disney travel agent! Some days I have to pinch myself when I think about working at something that I truly love, and having the honor and privilege of being able to assist hundreds of folks in creating magical Disney vacations….

So this is a very special time of the year for me, as I have the opportunity to celebrate this birthday, just when the Holiday Season gets underway. It seems appropriate somehow to celebrate something that gives joy to others, during this Season of Joy.

With that in mind, I am marking this birthday in two very special ways….and I hope that you will share in the celebration with me. Read more

A Disney Trip of Fun, Food, and Friends

Last weekend I was thrilled to have the chance to be in Walt Disney World. It was a different kind of trip, as I was there with some of the wonderful folks who write for The Affordable Mouse, along with some other great Disney friends. And what a great time we had! It was the opening weekend of the Food and Wine Festival, and the celebration of Epcot’s 30th anniversary. It also gave me the chance to see what’s new with the Fantasyland expansion….and to see what is coming too! 🙂
