Thrifty Thursday: Couponing for Your Disney Vacation

Couponing is a great way to save for your Disney vacation!  Manufacturer’s coupons are relatively easy to obtain.  They are available in most local newspapers at least weekly (usually in Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday editions).  They are also found in that junk mail circular stuffed in your mailbox and in your favorite magazines.  Manufacturer’s coupons are also available online!  Find them, scan them into your phone, email them to yourself or if you like a hard copy, print them on your printer.  Most stores actually will scan the coupons from your phone which is a big savings in printer cartridges and paper for you.  I know you are wondering by now how in the world all this coupon talk relates to your Disney vacation… Read more

Thrifty Thursday: Fido and Figaro on Vacation?

Since we first began our bi-annual treks to Disney World, a major issue for us, well, me anyway, is what about the furry and feathered kids (fids)?  What are we going to do about them while we are gone?  We are in the midst of planning our next trip, so the scheduling for our pet sitter has been put on the to-do list in the very near future.  Although we don’t take our fids on vacation with us, I do travel with my Shih-Tzus, Doodle and Tootsie, and occasionally with my cats, Yoda and Yeti.  Traveling with the pets calls for special planning if the trip is going to be  stress free and successful.  Read more

Thrifty Thursday: First-time Mouseketeers!

Our bags are not packed yet but hey, we have 76 days until we hit Disney World with our granddaughter, Maddy!  This will be her first trip to Disney World so we have been planning this trip since we made the reservations back in November.  Lala and Papa can hardly wait to show her all the fun things to do at Disney!  Soooo… over the next few weeks, 2 months and 14 days to be exact, I plan to share with you some of our plans to make Maddy’s trip truly magical and unforgettable!  Well, duh, you say, of course, Disney is fun… However, we want to make this first trip for Maddy memorable and magical without going bankrupt!  Read more
