Often times when we think of Disney we think about the rides, entertainment, and parks. What some of us don’t realize is that there is so much more to Disney that doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the rides or the parks. Disney has properties in several different places with a water slide as the one any only attraction. Disney is full of magic day in and day out. As a Cast Member I loved being a part of the magic for the guests. But there is some magic that the guests just cannot experience, magic that only the Cast Members get to witness. As much as I loved working with guests during park hours, some of my favorite times at work were park opening and park closing. It’s something about the serenity the park has just before the guests’ arrival and once they’ve all gone off to bed. Read more
This week I want to focus on some people on the Disney Properties that are not always considered Cast Members, and those Cast Members that you never really see or think about. When you go through the gates and on to property, even when you get to the parks, you have a feeling of being safe. You tend to leave your worries behind that you may otherwise feel in other amusement parks. This is due to those who are Cast Members or other emergency specialists that you hardly see. Read more
Disney likes to go to infinity and beyond for their guests in everything they do. Bringing in the newest technology, incorporating everyone’s favorite characters, providing excellent customer service, and making lasting memories for you and your family. Disney also likes to do things extra that you may not find at other amusement parks. Cast Members call these extra-added touches Magical Moments. Read more
When I began my training to work at Walt Disney World I started by learning the typical things: safety, proper attire, and the actual working of the attractions. But that wasn’t the only thing that I had to learn. Working at Disney you have to learn their terminology. If you’ve been to Disney World and spoken to the Cast Members, or read the signs around the park then you’ll understand what I mean. Disney won’t ignore you, or only simply say hey. The Cast Members are playing a part and they have their own scripts. You are the Guest and the Cast Members are putting on a show just for you. Read more
