“Look up and look down!” That is what we are often told when visiting Walt Disney World, because there are so many wonderful details….little touches added by the architects, designers, and Imagineers….that are literally everywhere! And most of us are so focused on the rides, attractions, shows, food, people, lines, our tired feet, the hot sun etc. etc. …..that we honestly just miss some of the coolest things that Disney has to offer!

So……any guesses where you will find these lovely tiles? 🙂

Wordless Wednesday: May the Force be With You

IMG_1382While Disney is just starting on the new Star Wars land in Hollywood Studios, if you are a Star Wars fan, you can still visit a galaxy far, far away at Star Wars Launch Bay. This fun area has a number of exhibits related to the current and previous Star Wars movies, games and the chance to meet with some favorite characters from the movie: Chewbacca and Darth Vader were there when I visited in December, and recently Kylo Ren is now making appearances. Light sabers are optional. Epcot’s annual Flower and Garden Festival begins in just 3 weeks, and I have to say, there is NO better way to welcome in Spring!

photoNo one really likes waiting in lines, but when it comes to visiting the Disney parks, it’s a given that you will wait in lines, likely many of them during your vacation. Always looking to add to the Guest experience, Disney has over the past few years, found a way to make that waiting fun. “Play while you wait”…..seriously, what a great concept! Take the wait for Dumbo now: there is an entire room where kids can play while waiting their turn to ride! The only problem now is getting them to leave the play are so that they can ride!

Wordless Wednesday: An Icon for Disney’s Hollywood Studios?

photo (1)Now that the giant Sorcerer’s Hat has been removed as the focal point of Hollywood Studios, and the older more traditional “Earful Tower” is leaving as well, there has been a lot of discussion about what the new “icon” for Hollywood Studios will be! After all, Magic Kingdom has a Castle, Epcot has Spaceship Earth and Animal Kingdom has the Tree of Life….so will the Great Movie Ride become the new symbol of Hollywood Studios? Or is something else, still unknown, on the way? Guess we will have to wait and see!
