Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of July 18, 2011

Hello there Disney Friends! Happy Saturday and Happy Weekend! As we deal with record-setting heat here in the U.S., I hope those of you who are in the middle of the heat wave are managing to stay cool! Wish I could send Mickey Bars and Dole Whips to all of you! But since I can’t, the next best thing is to share some “cool” Disney blog posts. So grab a glass of lemonade, find a nice air-conditioned spot, and enjoy the best from our Disney friends around the blogosphere! 🙂 Read more

As I mentioned earlier, and on our Facebook page this week, I am leaving The Affordable Mouse in the very capable hands of our wonderful writers, the Affordable Mousketeers. And they have a wonderful week of fun planned for you while I’m gone: lots of great Disney stories and the best part…the chance to win a $50 Disney gift card! You can read all the details here.  Be sure to stop by every day to increase your chance of winning!

Because of the contest, there won’t be a Disney blog round-up next Saturday….so this week’s will have to do for a couple of weeks. With that in mind….enjoy!

I’m always interested in ways that you can incorporate learning with Disney.  The Disney Driven Life offers some suggestions here: SUMMER READING WITH DISNEY

Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of June 13, 2011

Happy Father’s Day to all the Disney Dads! Hope you have a truly magical day! Now, from The Affordable Mouse to you, here is our weekly round-up of favorite Disney blog posts to add to your special day.

While there is so much helpful information on Chip and Co. these 3 posts caught my eye this week. First, “our” Brenda’s weekly Wednesday with Walt series is always a favorite of mine. This week’s edition, What’s My Line? is a great one! And for those of you planning trips this fall, you will want to see these 2011 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Details…they sound delicious as always! Lastly, this “news?” may or may not make you sad: Disney Confidential: Wishes will be ending soon

I always enjoy Disney Dispatch for the fun, and informative articles. This week they share some excellent tips on Magic Kingdom Park Touring

Ok, ok, not very Father’s Day-like, but I couldn’t resist….for the little girls in your life, Disney Every Day shares a Pink Minnie Mouse Themed Birthday Party Dessert Table

“Our” Kelly always has a great Money-Saver Monday post on her blog, Disney Guru and this week she talks about a super affordable souvenir idea: Fill a Cup Souvenirs

We had an interesting discussion on our Facebook page this week about this very topic that Disney World Basics talks about: Morning Extra Magic Hour vs. evening Extra Magic Hour

Jodi at Magical Mouse Schoolhouse has been running a series that I am finding truly fascinating. It’s all about what you can learn at Epcot World Showcase This week, we visit the Italy Pavilion

For those of you who have a visit planned during “peak” times, you won’t want to miss this from Your Highway in the Sky: 3 Things to Know About Rope Drop

Last, but definitely not least, “our” Kelly (again!) had another awesome article for WDW Fan Zone in which she discussed an illness that many of us have. Don’t miss My Disney Diagnosis ….and while she gives me undue credit, I think, for helping her to see her “problem”…I do take full credit for sharing her affliction. 🙂

That’s it for this week! Make sure Dad has a great Father’s Day…and Dads…hope there’s a little Disney in your day!
