When you enter Fantasyland through Cinderella Castle the first thing you lay eyes on is the Prince Charming Regal Carousel. The white horses going around and around to the classical Disney music with the pictures that tell Cinderella’s story, how could you not love that? But working there, I’ve heard time and time again, “Mommy I want to go on the carousel” and the response “You can go on a carousel anywhere, let’s go on something else.” And so your little princes and princesses are missing out on a pretty unique carousel.
Did you know that the characters will ride the carousel with the guests? Mary Poppins has been known to daintily climb onto one of the horses and take a turn around on the carousel. Also during extra magic hours I’ve helped Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and Goofy all onto the carousel, at the same time! They’ll ride right along side your little prince and princesses. At night even some of the Princesses have been known to come out of the castle and ride the horses.
As if that isn’t enough, guests have the opportunity to ride Cinderella’s own horse! Cinderella came down from the castle one day and tied a golden ribbon around one of the horse’s tails. Ask the cast member at the carousel to point it out to you or better yet try to spot it yourself while you wait. Don’t be afraid to ask the cast member to tell you the story about Cinderella’s horse!
So next time you’re in Fantasyland don’t bypass the carousel assuming that it is just like any other. You’re missing out on the opportunity to truly feel like royalty especially if you spot Cinderella’s horse!

Jess was born and raised on Long Island, New York but once college began so did her adventures. She’s lived in Florida, Wisconsin, and now South Carolina. Her family is part of the Disney Vacation Club and has been visiting since she was a little girl, and continuously goes every year. Besides being a big Disney fan she has also been a Disney Cast Member working in Magic Kingdom, and she counts it as one of the most magical experiences. She worked with everyone’s favorite elephant Dumbo, Cinderella’s Carousel, and Mickey’s Philharmagic. Jess has also visited Disneyland, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and gone on two Disney Cruises. She has so many great memories from Disney besides running half marathons and 5ks, birthday parties, and family reunions. If asked where she would want to go it is almost always Disney, and when asked why, it is almost always because she can eat awesome gluten free food! And it doesn’t hurt that there is always faith, trust, and pixie dust with magic in the air!

We just happened to get Cinderella’s horse the last time we were at Disney. We had no idea, but another mom pointed it out to us. My daughter was so excited to be riding Cinderella’s own horse. That’s Disney magic. [:)]
