Where to Stay

Trying to Decide Where to Stay on Your Disney Vacation?

Find out your options for Disney accommodations, and discover YOUR best choice for saving money.

There are a number of ways to save money on accommodations at Walt Disney World, and if you 100_0827are looking for an affordable Disney family vacation, then be sure to look at all of your options!

Start with looking at Walt Disney World properties first. With beautiful themes, great service, and close proximity to the parks, the Disney resort properties do offer some great advantages. And while this choice will typically cost the most, Disney often offers great deals on packages that can include resort accommodations, tickets and sometimes even the Disney Dining Plan. Depending on your needs, this can be a cost efficient choice, especially when you factor in the use of Disney transportation, and no parking or rental car fees. But carefully examine all aspects of the package, and make certain that it suites the needs of your family. If the package includes things that you don’t want, then it is not really a bargain!

If you would like the advantages of staying on Disney property, but a package is not the best option for you (or one is not available), then take a look at pricing just the resort. As a Disney Travel Specialist I can work with you to price a variety of options so that you have a choice that meets your needs and budget.

There are several excellent “non-Disney” hotels that are located on Disney property, including a few in the Downtown Disney area. My personal favorite for the convenience and wonderful amenities is the lovely Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resort located just a short walk or boat ride from Epcot and Hollywood Studios. A “deluxe” hotel, offering a number of Disney benefits, but without the Disney deluxe property cost, the Swan and Dolphin offer a great value plus Disney “magic” too!

If Disney resort hotels still don’t work for you, don’t despair! There are hundreds of hotels near Walt Disney World in the Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee, and Orlando areas, that offer a range of prices and amenities. If you are planning a trip at the last minute, or at a “peak” travel time, this is often the best way to get the best prices. Many hotels offer their own shuttle transportation to the parks, and a number offer some fantastic amenities including elaborate themed pool areas, large suites including mini-kitchenettes, free breakfast and a host of other niceties. It is not unusual to get bigger rooms, more “perks”, and better prices by staying off-site.

Perhaps one of the best ways to save money on Disney vacation accommodations, is to consider renting a private vacation home. If you are wondering why a Disney World rental house is an affordable option, consider that by renting a vacation home, you are likely to have a lot more space for your family (in a hotel, large groups necessitate multiple rooms, increasing the cost), you will have a kitchen (saving money on meals), and will have multiple entertainment options at no additional cost (many vacation homes have in-house home theatres, game rooms, private pools, video games and may even have access to community centers with fitness and other recreation activities).

There are a variety of vacation rental options close to Disney World, ranging from small condos to large houses that can accommodate multiple families. Everything is furnished, including the kitchen, and most bed linens as well. Having a Disney World rental house is a great way to save money and have larger and more luxurious accommodations at the same time.
