“What’s This, There’s White Things in The Air. In November?”

Merry Christmas in July!   Did you know that Walt Disney World celebrates the Christmas season for over 2 months?  Due to work and family obligations, I’ve not been lucky enough to spend the holiday season at Walt Disney World; and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to anytime soon.  But… I was lucky enough to be at Magic Kingdom for the beginning of the “change over” between the seasons.

My husband and I were at WDW in 2011 to attend the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on October 31st. (How cool was that!!)  Halloween that year was on a Monday with the last MNSSHP on Tuesday.  MK was all decked out in the fall/Halloween colors with pumpkins, scarecrows and leaves.

On Saturday morning we decided to go back to Magic Kingdom to buy one last thing, and what amazing things did we see….

Instead of scarecrows, jack-o-lanterns, and pumpkins, we now had toy soldiers, mistletoe and Christmas wreaths!!   It was amazing!

In fact, my husband and I took a picture at the circle meet and greet area in our Halloween costumes during the MNSSHP.   Then I had to have us do the same picture with the Christmas decorations.  It was our Holiday Card for the year!

I’ve read that Disney has crew that performs the decoration take down/put up overnight.  I can’t imagine trying do all that in one night!  Typically the lighting of the castle is occurs in the beginning of November.

And don’t forget to catch the Osborne Family Lights at Hollywood Studios.  I’ve seen the lights being put up, but once again not turned on.  🙁 One of these days I’ll get to see that too!

Well, as I dream of going to WDW for Christmas, I hope you get to experience the magic for yourself!  Have a Magical Day!!

Question of the Day: If you could celebrate any holiday or special occasion at Disney World, what would it be? And if you have done so…..what was it?

Since our anniversary is St. Patrick’s Day, we spend every anniversary at WDW. As Adrienne mentioned, we started going for Halloween and for the MNSSHP.

I would love to be there at Christmas. The only occasion we’ve celbrated there was our honeymoon. We got so many nice perks from cast members when they learned we were newlyweds!

I love Christmas at WDW. The Very Merry Christmas party is awesome. The Osbourne Family lights are breathtaking.
I also love how people at Pop Century decorate their hotel windows for Christmas as well! So cool.

I would like to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Walt Disney World with my darling husband. He is the most romantic man. He gives me flowers, buys me chocolate when I need it, and leaves me a love note each morning before he goes to work. To be at Magic Kingdom with the love of my life on February 14 would be the best Valentine I could give him!

I would love to celebrate my Anniversary (June 16) or my daughters Birthday (12/31) at WDW. My husband won’t go in June because of the heat and I know that New Years is one of the busiest times of the year so her Birthday is out as well. I guess we will stick to our Spring and Fall visits.

I have had the pleasure of celebrating Halloween at Disney twice, but this year I am getting a double whopper of special occasions… my daughter’s 8th bday and the holidays!
