Top 4 Universal Orlando Summer Planning Tips

13063023_10154028237122488_210706446273623108_oSummertime is almost here, and it’s one of the most popular times to visit Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. If you’re planning to make the trip this summer, here are some tips for your visit.

First of all, be sure that you plan enough time to see what you want to see! The resort is made up of two large theme parks full of rides, shows, and characters, so I recommend at least two days to see it. This also makes sure you have enough time for a little mid-day break from the heat, and allows time for navigating the crowds. If you can only make one day, you’ll definitely want to invest in the Park-to-Park ticket option so that you can hop between the two parks.

Summertime is a popular time to visit, and therefore it’s also a crowded time to visit. If you want to save time waiting in line, I recommend taking a look at Universal Orlando’s Express Pass option. This paid add-on allows you to skip the line at most major attractions in both parks, so you won’t spend most of your vacation in a queue. If you’re visiting for a few days, you may want to consider staying at one of Universal Orlando’s on-site resorts. Several of them offer complimentary Universal Unlimited Express with your hotel stay!

One of the most popular areas of Universal Orlando Resort is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and for good reason – it’s absolutely a must-do! Of course, during crowded times of year, this area and its attractions can be very crowded. One of the best ways to see the rides and shows here with little wait is to take advantage of Early Admission. Guests at on-site Universal Orlando Resort hotels and select Universal Partner hotels can enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter an hour before regular park opening. This way, you can hit the rides before the lines grow long.

Of course, since it’s summertime in Orlando, Florida, you’ll also want to prepare for the weather. It will be hot and humid. Pack weather-appropriate clothing as well as hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Stay hydrated, too – guests are allowed to bring water bottles in with them, and you can also fill them up at the water fountains or the Coke Freestyle stations located around the park. Orlando also has quite a bit of rain. It’s usually limited to a short rainstorm in the afternoon, so bring a poncho with you and you can keep on exploring the parks.
