Thrifty Thursday: Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit

You know I love the sticky sweet and savory breadtastic snacks at Disney World, but sometimes you just need to eat something green! Not only are veggies healthy and filling, but they’re also a great, inexpensive snack that you can eat on the move.

How inexpensive? Typically, you’ll pay about $1.20-$1.50 for a single piece of fruit, like a banana or an orange, or anywhere from $3.50-$4 for precut fruit, like pineapple or mixed fruit salad.

In the Magic Kingdom, you’ll find a wide variety of fruit available in Liberty Square, just to the left as you’re looking at the Hall of Presidents. You can also find pineapple at Aloha Isle, and Gaston’s Tavern is currently offering fruit and snackable vegetables as well.

In Epcot, The Land Pavilion offers lots of healthy fruit. You can also find some inexpensive healthy snacks at the Outpost between China and Germany in the World Showcase.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Anaheim Produce sells a ton of fruit. You can find the stand on the Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster side of the street, right between the DVC kiosk and Sunset Ranch Market.

You’d expect to find lots of healthy snacks in Animal Kingdom, and you’d be right! Your best bet is at the Harambe Fruit Market in the Africa section of the Park.

My favorite healthy snack? A chocolate covered banana!! (Okay, so it’s not totally virtuous, but it’s still fairly thrifty at about $3.75.)
