Thrifty Thursday: Time to Think Spring at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival

It’s March and it’s Spring right? Well when it comes to Disney, it definitely is: with the opening of Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival yesterday, Spring has definitely sprung at Walt Disney World! Showcasing gorgeous flower displays and Disney character topiaries throughout the park, this is possibly the most beautiful time of year to visit Epcot. If you are visiting this year, you will want to plan plenty of time as there are a number of offerings at the Festival that have no cost beyond your park admission!

Visit the Festival Center: Between Ellen’s Energy Adventure and Mission: Space is the Festival Center, where guests can learn more about the festival, purchase merchandise, and grab a free Garden Passport to guide your tour of the festival, especially the Outdoor Kitchens.

Visit the Outdoor Kitchens: Throughout World Showcase, these Outdoor Kitchens sell tasting-size dishes and drinks from around the world. Those familiar with the Epcot Food and Wine Festival will find the format similar, but the offerings are exclusive to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. We enjoyed the candied strawberries at the Outdoor Kitchen in China. These booths aren’t quite as crowded as the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, but you’ll find shorter lines by visiting during the week.

Take in a concert: The Garden Rocks Concert Series brings a variety of artists playing 1960s and 70s favorites at the America Gardens Theater. The concerts are included in park admission, though you might want to arrive early if you really want a seat.

Get some gardening tips: Each weekend at the Festival Center, guests can check out complimentary presentations from gardening and horticulture experts. If you’re a gardening enthusiast, this is a great chance to have experts answer your questions.

Plan plenty of time to browse: Possibly the best part of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is the beautiful flower displays, and they are everywhere. Give yourself time to stroll, take in the views, and find your favorite Disney character topiary.

This year’s Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot will be held through May 29, and you can get more details about this year’s events here. Happy Spring!
