Terrific Tuesdays: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The largest expansion ever in the history of Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, New Fantasyland, was completed almost a year ago. This expansion brought more character greetings. There also are new eateries and shop in this area, as well as new attractions. One of the most popular attractions in this area is Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

As your journey on the Mine Train begins you ride thru the forest. Then you come to the diamond mine. This mine is filled with beautiful sparkling gems. Along the route you are greeted by the seven dwarfs. As you climb out of the mine, Doc starts the call to work and the catchy tune begins. Heigh-ho, heigh-ho it’s off to work we go!

As you come to the crest out of the mine, there is a gentle drop where your train car will swing and sway as you travel back thru the forest. You will rock back and forth to the train station. On the right you will see Snow White dancing with the dwarfs in her cottage. When you pass her cottage turn slightly back. You should notice there is an unwelcome guest at her door.

Even though this attraction has been open for nearly a year the wait times can be brutal. I highly suggest making a Fast Pass+ reservation for this attraction. If you are unable to obtain a fast pass there are a couple ways to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train without waiting as long as you may have to during the day. First, if you and your family are early risers and you arrive at Magic Kingdom right at opening, you should head directly back to the Mine Train because the lines are not as long first thing in the morning. The second way is by going to the Mine Train a few minutes prior to closing. As long as you are in line before the park closes you will be able to experience this attraction. Just like the early morning, lines are shorter late at night. I hope you like this first of it’s kind, family roller coaster as much as I enjoy it with my family.

Denise has loved Disney as far back as she can remember. She has two teenage girls who were raised with Disney. Their rooms were decorated, and their closets were filled with Disney articles. Denise’s house now has Disney on every wall. Her wardrobe is made up mostly of Disney clothes. She feels that being surrounded by Disney keeps the memories and magic alive! Her friends affectionately call her “the crazy Disney lady”. Denise was born and raised in Oregon. Currently she lives in both Oregon and Florida splitting her time between both parts of the country. She lives with her youngest daughter (15) and her roommate. Her daughter goes to high school In Oregon. Denise and her roommate sneak away to Florida several times a year, as often as possible. Her daughter tags along when she can, without missing too much school. Her oldest daughter (20) doesn’t make it to Florida much anymore, but hopes to again very soon. Denise’s first trip to Walt Disney World was for her birthday in 2009. She fell more in love with the magic of Disney that day! Ever since then, Denise and her kids have been annual passholders. Last spring she upgraded to a premier pass to include Disneyland. Over spring break her youngest daughter had the pleasure of her first visit to Disneyland. With Denise helping them plan, her brother and his family enjoyed their first family trip to Disneyland at that same time. Denise is looking forward to helping you with money saving tips as well as sharing the excitement and magic of Disney!
