Terrific Tuesdays: Going Home to Walt Disney World

14556619_10154045525141234_6569313380962413356_oAfter going to Walt Disney World so many times, a lot of people will just look at me and mumble something about – “I don’t get it, don’t you want to do other things!?” My response is always, “NOPE, why would I want to? Going to Walt Disney World is like Going Home! Going Home to the place that makes you feel happy and content with your life, regardless of what else is going on at work or where you live.”

Even my husband and I have had the conversation about “getting it” when it comes to Walt Disney World. Not everyone gets it. Sure millions of people visit every year, some saving up for years to go, but how many out of those millions of people truly get it?

Getting it means getting that sense of contentment and excitement at the same time when you come under that infamous sign with Mickey and Minnie greeting you. Getting it is seeing Space Ship Earth or Tree of Life or Cinderella’s Castle and knowing deep down inside that things will be okay. That those problems you just left at the office or at home are not with you anymore. It doesn’t matter about that light you forgot to turn off, or if that project you just finished makes everyone happy. Those are far – far – far away memories.

There is a true magic about arriving at Walt Disney World. I don’t know about you, but when I arrive, I suddenly feel carefree, stress free and have more energy than I have ever had before. Those sniffles I had when I left on my trip are suddenly gone. All those aches and pains are ancient memories that fade more the longer I visit my Home.

Do you notice a true change when you arrive Home?
