Exploring Disney: Channeling Your Inner Paleontologist

You’ve heard the old cliche about the the doctors who can only imagine their children will follow in their footsteps and be doctors or lawyers, only to have them become artists. Well, my family is the opposite. Hubby and I are both artists, making our living with writing, dancing, acting, and voice artistry, so we imagined our little princess growing up loving all things art. Of course she wants to be a scientist and doctor.

While this isn’t exactly our path in life, we want her to be her little self, so we encourage her to learn whatever she wants to — which is great since she’s homeschooled. One topic she is particularly interested in is dinosaurs. She has loved them since she was just bitty, and continues to think they are just amazing. Since we’ve been going to Disney, I’ve been looking forward to bringing her on Dinosaur, and when we go in September, the time will finally be here! Read more

Terrific Tuesdays: Finding Nemo – The Musical

Walt Disney World is great about sneaking in some cool resting places, which get you out of the Florida sun and let you take a quick break, all while still entertaining you! One great spot is Finding Nemo – The Musical in Animal Kingdom. This 1500 person theater comes alive with our friends from the sea: Marlin, Nemo, Dory, Crush and many other larger than life puppets. Each puppet is controlled by human puppeteers, dressed to blend with their characters. In fact, I will bet by the end of the show, you don’t even realize they are separate from the puppets – they become as one! Read more

Terrific Tuesdays: Amazing Flights of Wonder

In all the years I have been traveling to Walt Disney World, I had never taken the time to enjoy the Flights of Wonder, until last year! I had heard from several blog friends and also a close friend that this was a show that I must see. They promised it was not a typical “bird-show”, but rather a show filled with amazing winged animals and that I would definitely walk away being in total awe of these magnificent creatures. Those are pretty high expectations, but after seeing Flights of Wonder, I think it is much more than what they described! Read more

Wordless Wednesday: Festival of the Lion King

There is a lot to see and do at each of the parks at Walt Disney World, and with all of the awesome rides and attractions, it can be hard to get to see some of the amazing shows as well. One show that you should not miss however, is the Festival of the Lion King! This show, held in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, is a boisterous, lively and super fun party with Simba, Timon, Pumba and some of their best friends. You’ll be singing, clapping and maybe even dancing in part of the show. It’s a “must see” for sure! Read more
