Thrifty Thursday: The Electrical Water Pageant

Leave the Magic Kingdom in the evening, or walk around the any of the nearby Disney resorts at night, and you may see and hear a true Disney treat. The Electrical Water Pageant is a floating parade transported by a one-thousand-foot-long string of barges that travels the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake every evening. It is akin to a water version of the Main Street Electrical Parade. The parade includes 14 floats lit with 50,000 light bulbs. Read more

Thrifty Thursday: Free Disney Water

I once inadvertently overheard a conversation between a mother and her young son at Walt Disney World. Her son, who appeared to be about 6 years old, was telling her how thirsty he was and I could see she was carrying a bottle of water. She was telling him how she told him he should have also gotten a bottle of water as she had suggested, but he had insisted on the Mickey Ice Cream. I noticed that her bottle was only about 1/3 full and guessed that she was trying to make it last as long as possible. Read more
