Exploring Disney: Rocking Out on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

I am the first to admit, I am not a roller coaster fan – the thought of turning upside down and sudden drops absolutely scares me. That being said, I have ridden Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster three times (well technically twice, since once I actually took the “chicken walk”), and while it was fun, that is plenty for me!  Read more

120 speakers worth of awesome blastin’ tunes at your head and a stretch limo that pulls major Gs under your feet, then over your head, then under your feet again…..it can only mean you’re taking a ride on ROCK ‘N’ ROLLER COASTER!!  If you’re a thrill-ride-lover, then you’re sure to think that it’s one of the most awesome rides anywhere in Walt Disney World.

Enter Hollywood Studios, pass all the boulevard-style shopping, and take a hard right on Sunset Boulevard.  You will see the awful, dreadful looming hotel with screaming folks plunging into a basement on an elevator gone wild (that thing makes my stomach turn), but turn left just before you get to the Tower of Terror monstrosity.  That is where you will find the enormous guitar and the exhilarating coaster ride that will make you get back in line to experience it again and again.

My Favorite Disney Things: Bird’s Favorite Things are the Feelings

My favorite Disney things, eh? That should be pretty easy… except it’s not. I’m not sure I could tell you what my favorite ride is or my favorite restaurant, because there are something I LOVE about each one of them so far. My Favorite Disney Things: Three…Two…One… BLAST OFF!

“They’re getting ready to drop it…are you ready?”

“Yes, I’m ready!”

“Here it comes….GO! GO! GO!”

That was a typical start to a day at the Magic Kingdom back when my sister and I visited as teens. We would be at the park as soon as it opened, make a mad dash to the rope, wait patiently for rope drop, and then book it straight to Space Mountain.

Space Mountain was our favorite ride back then. The most thrilling of all the rides at Magic Kingdom, bar none, and we loved it! It was impossible to ride without wasting hours of your day in line, unless you got there first thing. The ride has changed a lot since then, as we used to actually end up sitting in each other’s laps (ha), but 30+ years later, it remains an MK favorite to millions. Read more
