The exorbitant amount we Americans are paying at the pump will very likely affect the vacation plans for many families this Summer. People from around the country have said that the high price of gas has caused them to cancel or change their summer vacation plans in the past, so it is very possible this will happen again this year. Some families, although not deciding to do away with vacation this year altogether, also do not want to plan too far ahead; so instead of planning now for a July trip they are waiting to see if prices go down. The problem is the uncertainty over how high fuel prices could get. Even so, driving to Walt Disney World can save families a great deal of money. Why would you want to drive? Tuesday Disney Tips: Driving to Disney World

Of all the trips I have made to Disney World, I have only flown 4 times: twice when I was a teenager, once in 2000 and once in 2004. The other eleven visits we have driven from Texas to Orlando. This is primarily due to the fact that my husband is happy to drive but less than happy to fly. My concern for his wishes, coupled with the fact that there are very few airline specials to Orlando from my nearest airport, has made driving our best option. I rather enjoy taking road trips myself and have learned some valuable tips along the way. Continue reading
