Special Dining Needs at Disney: Ask the Dishes It’s Delicious!

11807424_10207069027071463_2463679349720158933_oI just got back from my honeymoon in Walt Disney World and boy do I have food news to share with you! I took pictures of menus and the food I ate along with my husband’s food as well. For the first time I got to see and experience ordering with their new allergy friendly menus. I’m just chock full of information for you guys and can’t wait to live through the deliciousness of it all again.

Let’s start with what I promised you, breakfast at Be Our Guest! Have I mentioned before how much I love it there? In case you missed it, I’ve eaten dinner there before in the ballroom and it was fantastic. But this time I was lucky enough, thanks to my mum, to be able to have breakfast there. Instead of a full service restaurant like it is at dinner service, breakfast is more of a quick service setting. Reservations are still needed to dine at Be Our Guest for breakfast since it is still a fairly new time for dining there. When it’s time for your reservation you make your way into Beast’s castle.

You will then give your orders in the study. This is where you would tell them that you have a food allergy, and they direct you to a cast member who can help with your order. We got the Eggs Florentine gluten free (which meant no pastry shell) the Open Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich (which was on gluten free bread instead of the baguette), and Croque Madame (again with gluten free bread). You also get a drink with your order that you can get at the self service stations, which I didn’t realize they were there because they are hidden behind curtains at dinner service! Once you’ve placed your order you get to go and find a seat.

Since we hadn’t eaten in the West Wing before that’s where we decided to sit. As if by magic, a few minutes later our food mysteriously found us at the table. Not only did we get the food we ordered, but there were three gluten free breads or pound cakes we got to pick at as well. My personal favorite was the open-faced sandwich; the chocolate chip bread wasn’t too bad either to munch on.

11794145_10207069025231417_6002346303697704555_oI can’t go on enough about the Be Our Guest dining experience from breakfast to dinner. The options are endless, it’s almost like there is no allergy restricting me from getting to enjoy the menu. The best advice I have for you is to make sure that you make a reservation as soon as you can. Keep an open mind, I usually pick the restaurants I want to eat at and get reservations for them whenever I can, then plan my park visits around my reservations. Especially when you really want to eat somewhere and there is only one day that you can get a reservation for.

As with every dining reservation you make at Disney, make sure to let them know you have a food allergy. Until next time my foodie friends, have faith and trust, and be my guest to sprinkle on the pixie dust!
