Out of the World Summer in Disneyland Paris: Let’s Ride!

In Disneyland Paris, it was really fun to explore all the rides!  Some are the same as the ones in Orlando, plus some additions that you can only see in Paris.  This makes a trip like this so fun (and worth the money!), because you get to experience some Disney things that you have never seen before.  So cool!  I’ve listed the rides you will see in DLRP, and given a short description of the ones you may not be familiar with.

Rides you may recognize and love:

  • It’s a Small World
  • Lancelot’s Carousel (just like Cinderella’s!)
  • Peter Pan
  • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
  • Mad Hatter Tea Cups
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Pinochio’s Journey
  • Captain EO
  • Buzz Lightyear
  • Star Tours
  • Space Mountain *see below
  • Orbitron
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Swiss Family tree house
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Riverboat
  • Railroad
  • Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Rock n Roller Coaster
  • Flying Carpets
  • Art of Animation
  • Autopia – the cars
  • Studio Tram Tour: behind the magic

All those rides are fairly close to the ones we know and love.  The only exception is Space Mountain.  It has the same name but is a completely different ride!  It has a fast take off, and really cool decorations, meteors and planets and lots of color!  My husband and I really enjoyed their version.

These are the rides you can only experience here in the Paris park.  I’ve included a small description of each ride, but if you want more information go here, to the DLRP website, to read more about them!

  • Alice’s Curious Labyrinth: A maze of hedges with a small house you can explore.
  • Sleeping Beauty Castle: The main castle in this Disney landscape, you can explore this one a little more thoroughly than our Cinderella Castle.  You may even find a dragon in the dungeons!
  • Story Book Land Boat Cruise: a sweet little boat ride through landscape inspired by the great Disney stories
  • Mysteries of the Nautilus:  Explore Verne’s famous submarine
  • Captain Hook’s Boat: a basic swinging boat, seen in most amusement parks
  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril: this Indy themed ride is sort of like one of those wild mouse coasters, with a small loop, it’s really fun!
  • Aladdin’s Enchanted Passage: walk through Aladdin’s world and see the sites of Agrabah!
  • Crush’s Coaster: Ride in your very own turtle shell on a coaster through the currents, seeing the sites of the movie Finding Nemo.  This coaster is listed under thrills, but it’s not that bad!
  • Armageddon: a show type ride where you are inside the world of the movie, being bombarded by meteors!  Look out!
  • RC Racer: themed around Toy Story, this looks like that old toy where the matchbox cars go back and forth on a U shaped track.  A real thriller!
  • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop: a family ride, go up in the air with the Army men from Toy Story…and then drop back to earth!  Not a thrill drop though;)
  • ZigZag Coaster: a kids ride in the Toy Story lot, experience the jolts and small thrills as Slink tries to catch his own tail.
  • In addition to the rides, both parks offer shows and parades that will entertain the whole family – most are DLRP’s own version!  See more here.

So there you go!  That concludes my short summer series as we explore the world of Disneyland Paris.  I think it’s definitely worth one trip in your lifetime, preferably with the kiddos, for a trip no one will ever forget!  It’s so exciting to see how other countries do Disney, I’d love to visit ALL the Disney parks one day.  Although Affordable Mouse can’t book your Paris vacation for you (they have a different booking system,) we’ve given you lots of ideas and resources to plan your own trip if you are interested!  If you have specific questions on DLRP, feel free to comment below.  Enjoy the European Magic!!
