It’s getting closer….the excitement is building….we’ve waited as long as we can….the suitcases are coming out!!! As soon as we put that first item in our suitcase, it will begin to seem real that we are actually going to Disney World….SOON!!! YAY!!! We all have our trips paid off as of last week (45 days out) and everyone is getting antsy to get this show on the road!!
The anticipation and planning of a Disney trip is ALMOST as fun as the trip itself! We made the decision to go on this vacation 14 months ago, so Disney World has been a hot topic of discussion in our house for over a year now! (Actually when is it NOT a topic in our house HA!) I have to say, we have had a blast planning this trip, not only for ourselves, our son and grandson, but for our 3 first timers!!
Taking first timers makes planning the itinerary and dining reservations easy….as they are game for any and everything! As excited as WE are about being at Disney World again….seeing the 3 of them see Disney World for the first time is going to be AWESOME!! Even though we have told them how massive and breathtaking it is, until they see it for themselves, they truly have no clue how magical and wonderful a Disney trip can be!! I can’t WAIT to see their faces as they take in the sights and sounds of Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom as well as Downtown Disney! Watching them as they experience the parades, the character meet and greets, the fireworks, the shopping, the food….I’m smiling just thinking about it!!
I remember my first Disney trip….I was 6 years old and my parents and I went to Disneyland. I still have the picture of me with Alice in Wonderland and The White Rabbit in front of the castle! But the one thing I remember most of all is my first ride on It’s a Small World…. I was mesmerized!! I’d never seen so many dolls in my whole life and they were all so cute in their costumes from around the world! And that song….I loved it and still do! I was so captivated by the whole experience, I decided then and there that I wanted out of the boat because I was going to LIVE in It’s a Small World…I never wanted to leave! I didn’t want the ride to ever end and I was very sad when it did! Now, as an adult, I’m not sure I could tolerate hearing that song over and over again for the rest of my life…but, It’s a Small World is still one of my very favorite rides ever!
We are looking so forward to making more Disney World memories on this trip…and seeing our daughter, son-in-law and our son’s girlfriend make their first Disney memories as well! On YOUR first Disney visit….what is your favorite memory?
