New Year, New Disney Memories

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!  For the start of the new year, I know a lot of people make resolutions to make changes in their lives. But what about making a resolution to make new Disney memories?  It doesn’t matter if you are traveling to a Disney property or staying home, you can experience Disney magic.

If you are traveling, why not stay at a new resort?  We all know that we having our favorite resorts, but each resort has different settings and layouts.  Maybe this time you want to experience Mardi Gras at Port Orleans French Quarter- Have you seen the Alligator in their pool area??  Maybe you and your kids want to feel like you have entered into 4 classic animated movies, like the Lion King, Cars, etc. – Then give Art of Animation a try!  (Their food court is AMAZING!)  Maybe you got a really good holiday bonus at work and want to splurge- give the Grand Floridian a try and check out their beautiful marble floors!

Speaking of food, why not try a new restaurant or dining experiences?  I know most of us have never actually traveled all over the world to sample the food that is represented in the World Showcase, so eating at Epcot is the perfect way to find out about different cultures’ food.  Until I ate at Beirgarten, I did not realize how much German food I really liked.  On our upcoming trip, we are eating at 2 new restaurants- Cape May Café and Akhershus.  My husband is excited for the seafood at Cape May while my best friend and I are ready to be 2 adult women getting pictures with Princesses.

Well, if you aren’t traveling to Disney this year that’s ok too!  Its time to break out the Disney games and food!   Many of the Disney recipes are online, so try a few so you can recreate your favorite meals.  I’ve heard that many of the Disney restaurants will give you a recipe if you ask.  So,this year I want to get the recipe for Au Gratin Macaroni from Be Our Guest (I order it every time!) so I can make it at home. 🙂  We spent yesterday playing some of our Disney games- it was so nice to just relax and reminisce about our past trips to Disney World.

Speaking of a trip to Disney World, I’m going back to daydreaming about our upcoming trip….Is it March yet??
