Fun and Food on the Boardwalk

Continuing my review of Disney’s Boardwalk……Now that you’ve settled into your room, it is time to get some food and drink.  Well, there are quite a few options on the Boardwalk and in the resort.  The Boardwalk has two sides- Villas and Inn.  The Villas are for Disney Vacation Club (DVC), the Inn for cash guests.  On the Inn side, there is a small bar (Belle Vue Lounge) that is open in the evenings, but when we were there it was serving coffee, hot chocolate and some light snacks/breakfast.

The rest of the restaurants are along the Boardwalk, including the recently renovated Boardwalk Bakery.   The refillable drink station is available at the bakery as well, but I hear it is at other locations as well now.  Unfortunately, the bakery didn’t reopen until after our most recent trip.  Not having a centralized location for food, in our opinion, is a drawback to this resort.

Other restaurants include: ESPN Club, Kouzzina, the Pizza Window, Big River Brewing Company, and the Flying Fish.  We recently ate at the Big River Brewing Company.  They do not take reservations so with our luck; the night we chose to eat there was PACKED!  So we ended up eating outside even though it was quite chilly.

The entertainment on the Boardwalk varies on the day of the week and seasons.  We have seen street performers,  carnival-type games, and of course the 2 adults clubs (Atlantic Dance Club and Jellyrolls).  Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar.   There is also a surrey bike rental available which I think would be a good way to spend some time.  I saw bikes that seemed to fit at least 8 people.  But since it was so cold when we there, there wasn’t a whole lot going on.  One thing that you are guaranteed to see are the fireworks from Epcot’s nightly show.

Hope you get to spend some time at the Boardwalk on your next trip!
