Our favorite Quick Service dining location is in the Mexico Pavilion, La Cantina de San Angel, which is a walk-up counter service dining establishment sitting right on the World Showcase Lagoon. You can enjoy that beautiful view while eating a delicious meal and drinking a nice cold frozen Margarita!! It’s a popular place and always busy so it’s sometimes hard to find a seat, especially if you want to sit right next to the water, but tables open up quickly, so our wait has never been too long. You can also sit inside, which isn’t very well known, but there are doors on the end of the building and it has a fairly large eating area with booths and also a great view of the Lagoon…and it’s air-conditioned which is a huge plus. The outside eating area is mostly shaded, but there are a few tables in the sun, so eating inside gives you another option!
Their menu offers pollo cascabel (grilled chicken), tacos de pollo, de barbacoa or de pescado, empanadas con queso, nachos, chips and guacamole and ensalada mexicana. I had the tacos de pollo which are made with corn tortillas and served with mexican rice, refried black beans and red salsa…and I have been craving it ever since, it was SO good and the black beans were AMAZING!!! My Hubby had the tacos de barbacoa and he thoroughly enjoyed his as well! For dessert, we had churros with caramel sauce which were very tasty too! They also serve paletas, which are fruit popsicles, another great way to cool off on a hot day! They come in mango, lime, coconut and watermelon flavors and are very popular with the kiddos!!
So for 1 Quick Service credit on the Disney Dining Plan, you can enjoy beautiful views, delicious food, adult beverages (you will pay extra for these though)…all while resting your feet before you head out to your next adventure in Epcot!! Ole!
As Julie says: “I am addicted to all things Disney! 🙂 I grew up in Vernon, TX and now reside in Waller, TX (outside of Houston) on a small ranch with my hubby and all of our animals who we affectionately call “The Zoo Crew”! We have been married almost a year now (together for 7) and have 5 children and 9 grandchildren between the 2 of us. We knew we were meant for each other when we discovered we were both Disney fanatics! 🙂 I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was 6 and fell in love with the magic of Disney. Now, my husband and I go to Disney World every 2 years either with friends or with whichever kid and grandkid are available to go at the time. We spend a lot of time planning our trips to ensure that everyone has the most memorable time while there, so that is what I will be writing about and hopefully give you some ideas to try for YOUR next Disney vacation. I am very excited to be a part of The Affordable Mouse team!”
