We have stayed at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort many times over the years – it is our very favorite resort – but we had NEVER eaten at the restaurant there, Boatwright’s Dining Hall, until our last trip in September. Now that we have, I can say that we absolutely LOVED it!!!
Our waitress was great, so helpful about the menu and fun to talk to! After having Mardi Gras Fritters for an appetizer (her suggestion)…which were quite yummy by the way…Henry decided to try General Fulton’s Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and green beans. I had The Big Easy, which was a grilled New York Strip covered with Peppercorn Cream sauce and served with a side of Crawfish Macaroni and Cheese. Both meals were absolutely delicious and we could not believe that we had never come here to eat!! Boatwright’s is NOW on our “must do” list and we highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it!!
After having such a wonderful meal, we unfortunately were too full for dessert, which was a shame because they do have some luscious looking ones that we saw at other tables. From Crème Brulee to Red Velvet Cheesecake to Bourbon Street Pecan Pie, they have quite a selection to choose from. Maybe next time we will start with dessert first!!
While we were waiting for our check, the waitress noticed that we were wearing our Happy Anniversary pins, and she brought out 2 glasses of champagne to help us celebrate our special day! What a wonderful ending to a perfect day…Disney certainly knows how to make things MAGICAL!! So next time you are looking for a great dining experience, try Boatwright’s Dining Hall. I promise you won’t be disappointed!!
As Julie says: “I am addicted to all things Disney! 🙂 I grew up in Vernon, TX and now reside in Waller, TX (outside of Houston) on a small ranch with my hubby and all of our animals who we affectionately call “The Zoo Crew”! We have been married almost a year now (together for 7) and have 5 children and 9 grandchildren between the 2 of us. We knew we were meant for each other when we discovered we were both Disney fanatics! 🙂 I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was 6 and fell in love with the magic of Disney. Now, my husband and I go to Disney World every 2 years either with friends or with whichever kid and grandkid are available to go at the time. We spend a lot of time planning our trips to ensure that everyone has the most memorable time while there, so that is what I will be writing about and hopefully give you some ideas to try for YOUR next Disney vacation. I am very excited to be a part of The Affordable Mouse team!”
