Disney Vacation Planning: Help When You Need It

No one ever wants anything to happen on your Disney vacation, but the fact is that things happen, and generally when we least expect them.  So being prepared and knowledgeable of all the things that are available to you through Disney can help, if an emergency comes up. Disney is one of those places that is prepared for just about anything, including illness and accidents, no matter where you are in Walt Disney World.

If you’re in Magic Kingdom you will find the First Aid station right next to the Crystal Palace.  In Epcot the First Aid station is at the Odyssey Center, which is located on the left hand side on your way to the world showcase.  It’s a good place to stop if you’re feeling some lasting effects after Mission Space.  Hollywood Studios has their First Aid station right when you first enter the park on the left hand side.  At Animal Kingdom you will find the First Aid station behind Creature Comforts in Discovery Island.  Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach both have their own First Aid stations and you can find them located on the park maps or My Disney Experience app, just like all the others.  At these First Aid stations you will find a nurse waiting in the air conditioning who will be more than happy to help you.  She can take your temperature, help you re-hydrate, and she has the ability to give first aid care.  She may even have a sewing kit for the popped button of your shorts.  Your own personal doctor can even call in your prescriptions and have them delivered to the first aid stations in the parks.  Some will even deliver to the Disney Resort Hotels.

Now illness may strike at any time.  Who’s to say you’ll be at the parks when it happens?  No need to fear, if you’re staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts: just give a call down to the front desk.  They often have a first aid kit of their own.  If there is a serious illness though, one that may include hospitalization, Disney can even help then.  Call or stop down at the front desk of your Disney Resort and they will arrange transportation to the Celebration Hospital which is right down the road.  This hospital isn’t your run of the mill hospital.  The rooms are very kid friendly in order to not scare your younger loved ones.  Disney wants you to enjoy your vacation and will do whatever they can to make that happen and make a stress free vacation for you, even if you’re sick.

No one wants illness or accidents to happen on vacation but sadly sometimes they do. Hopefully by informing yourself on what Disney has to offer for you, you will be more prepared if something ever does happen.  Who knows, maybe if you know it then you wont need to use the information?  So you may be stressed at any situation that arises but Disney is prepared to help you and bring you back to a stress free vacation.  Have faith and trust, and believe in Disney’s pixie dust that’ll get you through anything.

    Bandaids for blisters!
    Cough drops!
    Antihistamine for allergies!
I have even gone in and sat in the waiting room for a few moments when I was just overwhelmed by all the noise.

I ended up in a wheelchair on our last trip and they were so helpful! Accidents and illnesses are awful in Disney, but they certainly make them easier!
