Disney Fun: Gnomeo O’ Gnomeo Wherefore Art Thou Gnomeo

I decided to hijack Adrienne’s blog this month.  For those of you who many not know me, my name is Kenny and I am Adrienne’s husband. I can be found online at facebook.com/TAM.KennyB.  I wanted to bring something fun, a little warped, and downright crazy to this month’s blog post….

Do you have fun loving neighbors that want to go to Disney but haven’t?  We came up with a brilliant idea to bring back some Disney Magic.  With the popularity of yard gnomes, we decided to grab their gnome and left a note in the mail box.

“We have your Colts gnome. He needed a break from the weather. He is fine and will be back in a few weeks with photographs of the places he has been. Don’t worry he is in good hands. Signed…The gnome snatchers”

After loading up the car, we buckled in the gnome, affectionately known as “Juan” and set for our 16 hour journey to the World. Along our way, we had to make some pit stops.

Once we made our arrival, we made a beeline to EPCOT and La Cava de Tequila.  It is a tradition for the group of us to start our vacation with a shot of Scorpion Mezcal.  Unfortunately for Juan, he couldn’t hold his liquor, and had to take a siesta there at the bar.

Once he got back onto his feet, Juan vowed never to do that again.  He made his way around the world and had photo ops with many cast members, including the belly dancer at Morocco.

Our trip to Hollywood Studios was a special trip for Juan.  He was very excited to see his kin on the billboard while we were on the Back Lot Tour.   Also, he was excited to meet the street performers, green army men, and storm troopers.

The high point at Animal Kingdom for Juan was meeting Rafiki and recreating his favorite Lion King scene. He also enjoyed the Kilimanjaro Safari and Expedition Everest. No trip to Walt Disney World is complete without a visit to Magic Kingdom.  Juan was elated to see Cinderella’s Castle, dined well at Liberty Tree, and enjoyed Wishes.

Unfortunately the week went by too quickly, but Juan returned home rested and relaxed.  We made a compilation of pictures of his visit, over 600, and left it in his owner’s mail box.  Shortly after this adventure, our neighbor stopped us and told us that Juan had a better vacation than they ever had and were very eager to make a trip to the World. When you are planning your next trip and would like to bring back some Disney magic to your neighbors, look around their yard to see if there is an ornament that is looks like it needs to take a trip as well.

Until next time, have a magical day!
