Disney Fun From Around the World: Week of October 24, 2011

Happy Saturday and Happy Halloween Weekend Disney Friends! (Although if you live in the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast, the weather seems more appropriate for Christmas! I guess Mother Nature has some tricks rather than treats for us this weekend! ) Fortunately Rachel has been busy finding fun and interesting Disney blog news to keep us warm. So find a steaming beverage, light the fireplace, and enjoy taking a trip around the Disney “world” this morning. Take it away Rachel! 🙂

Interesting news from Chip and Co: FastPass for afternoon parade viewing will be tested at Magic Kingdom this week.

Disney Dreaming let us know that the new Beauty and the Beast restaurant, part of the FantasyLand expansion, will serve as both a quick service restaurant for lunch and a table service dinner restaurant. I think I like that concept!

And more news about the new Fantasyland: According to Stitch Kingdom, Snow White will reportedly close in February 2012 as part of the FantasyLand expansion.

Headed to WDW over the holidays? Here are the top ten things not to miss, courtesy of Couponing to Disney. There’s also a great article from Chip and Co. on five key things to keep in mind when travelling to the parks over the holidays.

Whether you travel by plane, train, or car to the parks, you’re probably looking for ways to entertain the kids on the way. We love the Color Wonder products from Crayola. Thanks to Disney Babies Blog for the tip!  (Target has had a lot of these sets on clearance lately, I got my kids’ the lap desks, around $12 normally, for $3.)

Disney Babies Blog also pointed out that the new Advanced Dining Reservation System went into effect on Oct. 26. Many popular restaurants will now require a credit card to hold the reservation, and will be charged for late cancellations/no-shows. We will definitely pay more attention to ADRs now.

And this is a fun and exciting rumor: Captain EO may possibly be replaced by a WALL-E attraction, according to Anonymouse.

That’s it for this weekend! Stay warm and dry! 🙂
