Disney Cruise Line: What to Pack

Over the course of the summer we have been discussing Disney Cruise Line, from Kids Clubs to Spas. Disney Cruise Line sure knows how to please the family in terms of service, activities and amenities. Now that you are thinking about booking your Disney Cruise you may be wondering just what you should pack?  Below are some great packing tips!!

You are going to want to dress very comfortable for the cruise as you will be doing a lot of relaxing and laying by the pool. But for the evenings you will want some more dressy attire to wear to the dinner show and dinner.

Here are some items to pack in your day bag for the day you embark on your Magical journey!! *Your luggage will take a few hours to be delivered to your stateroom.

  • Passport or other travel documents
  • Medications (must be in their original container)
  • Camera (there are a ton of memories to document from the minute you step on the port)
  • Sunglasses, Eyewear such as contacts and glasses
  • Bathing Suit
  • Sunscreen (the deck reflects a lot of sun) 

CARIBBEAN AND BAHAMIAN CRUISES

Attire and Accessories

  • Bathing suit
  • Bathing suit cover up
  • Swim diapers
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses, a hat and other protective wear
  • T-shirts
  • Shorts
  • Lightweight pants
  • Jeans
  • Sundresses
  • Sandals or sneakers (the deck is a bit slippery so be wise in choosing your shoes)
  • In winter, you may also want to bring:
  • A light jacket or sweater
  • Socks
  • Heavier footwear

 ALASKAN CRUISES

 The average summer temperatures in Alaska can range from a high of 62 degrees Fahrenheit to an average low of 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Layering is recommended, so pack accordingly! The pools aboard the cruise ship will be open and are heated if the temperature falls below 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Bathing suit cover up
  • Swim diapers
  • Gloves
  • Warm hat
  • Coat
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Light shirts
  • Sweaters, Sweatshirts or pullovers
  • Pants
  • Jeans
  • Heavier footwear
  • Umbrella and poncho
  • Binoculars
  • Socks
  • A fleece jacket
  • Dinner attire

Other Items: 

  • Small bills for tips and other small purchases
  • Band-Aids
  • Batteries for any electronics
  • Benadryl 
  • Beach Toys
  • Candy for the shows and movies-This tip came from Disboards.com. 
  • Extension cord or power strip
  • Nightlight-The cabins get very dark at night…especially the interior cabins. 
  • Extra Tote Bags/Day Bags/Beach Bags
  • Dry erase board to leave in your room for family communication.
  • Dramamine or Seabands
