Dining At Disney: Adult Beverages

Over the past months, I have concentrated on food – now it is time to address something on a more mature subject – Adult beverages!

Adult beverages are available throughout Walt Disney World with the exception of Magic Kingdom. I don’t know specifically the reasoning for this, but I would say, it has to do with Magic Kingdom being the original park with more of a family theme – that is strictly a guess on my part though. I would love to hear from anyone with other ideas or if you have heard the specific reason.

My husband had been going for over 20 years before he joined me on our first trip as husband and wife, he never knew if or even where you’d be able to get a beer or mixed drink. I think that says a lot for Disney. You have to actually look for them. Hint; most kiosk in each park with other beverages, also have beer. The beer most often found is Yuengling, although I have found Sam Adams and Bud Light.

Once in World Showcase, beer and drinks from all over the world are available. I love trying different wines & beers, but beware, don’t try them all in one day! Having a cold Bass from England and strolling along the promenade is a great relaxing time after all the rushing to this ride and rushing to that ride or show.

A very popular drink is found in France – the Grey Goose Orange or Citron Lemonade Slush. I have not had the privilege of trying this yet, but it is definitely on my list for the next trip. My personal favorite is the Kir Royale, which is champagne and Crème de Cassis. At $12.95, I don’t get too many of these, so my solution is to fix these at home and drink them out of my “special” plastic champagne glasses I get from each trip. Please tell me I’m not the only one who saves these glasses. This little ritual takes me back to my magical place people watching along World Showcase.

Next month, I’ll explore more of England.

I’d love to hear what other favorite adult beverages are on your “must-have list” for your trips to Walt Disney World.

Although the parks are more sober affairs, the cruise lines seem to make during very easy, but beware of the prices. Firsts stop for us in St Maarten meant that we were able to us delicious local rum and make Cuba libres and mojitos of our own using cruise line ice and cola!

Our favorites are Mojitos at a kiosk near Canada and Margaritas at the Mexico quick service kiosk. They also have amazing nachos and churros.

Kerri – I had heard the prices on the cruise lines were higher! Getting local rum is a great idea and money saver!
Bridget – I haven’t had a Mojito from the kiosk – can’t wait to try next time in WDW!

    Thanks for the ideas!
