The Great Movie Ride Dinner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: The Experience

EditorLast week, my friend, Lisa Battista, author of Beyond the Attractions: A Guide to Walt Disney World with Preschoolers shared Part One of her recent experiences at a very special event. This weeks she concludes her delicious review.

In May, I received an email inviting me to “The Great Movie Ride Dinner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios” for Tables in Wonderland members. I rationalized the expense ($165 per person plus tax; gratuity included) as being a combined birthday / Father’s Day gift for my husband. Never mind that I was attending as well. I also assuaged my guilt by using Kelly’s tip to save 5% on the event. I used my Target REDcard to purchase Disney gift cards at Target, which I then used to prepay the dinner. Read more

The Great Movie Ride Dinner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: The Food

EditorI am so happy to welcome back my friend, Lisa Battista, author of Beyond the Attractions: A Guide to Walt Disney World with Preschoolers. This week and next, Lisa will be sharing her recent experiences at a very special event and….well, I’ll let her tell you. 🙂

The email from Tables in Wonderland taunted me. (Tables in Wonderland is a dining discount plan for Florida Residents, Annual Passholders, and DVC Members. The program offers small, one-of-a-kind dining events for cardholders every month or so.)

“Arrive at Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ and walk through the courtyard of the Majestic Graumann’s Chinese Theatre. Then you will be invited to come inside The Great Movie Ride after the attraction is closed with exclusive backstage VIP access! We’ve cleared the track for you to walk through and dine inside the attraction where you will experience some of the most classic scenes in motion picture history. Sets from Busby Berkeley musicals, crime dramas, old-fashioned Westerns, and more!” Read more

My Favorite Disney Things: Belinda’s Favorite Guy

Many thanks to Belinda from Disney Guru, for writing another “Be Our Guest” post today, this time on her favorite Disney thing….a certain Mouse…. Thank you Belinda for sharing! 🙂

When asked to write about my favorite thing at Walt Disney World, the answer came very quickly to mind. A lot of us have a favorite attraction, restaurant, park or resort. I can name several attractions that I love more than another and the same with a resort, park or restaurant, but those things don’t even come close to my most favorite thing at the most magical place on earth. Be Our Guest: Disney Vow Renewals

Celebrating today’s Royal Wedding in Disney style, I am especially excited to welcome Belinda as a Guest Blogger for us! Belinda frequently writes for Disney Guru, where she recently shared her experiences having a Disney Vow Renewal. I was thrilled when she agreed to provide us with the “affordable” side to her wonderful day! Welcome Belinda…and thank you! 🙂

Always wished your wedding was with Disney but it just wasn’t affordable? Opt for a Vow Renewal, save a ton and have the next best thing!

When I was asked to do a guest post for The Affordable Mouse, I was honored to be a part of such a wonderful and helpful Disney site. I thought to myself, what I could share with all of you in terms of Disney being affordable? Then I knew! If you are like me, you dreamt of your wedding being with Disney but for most of us, reality set in, as the cost is extremely high. Disney weddings can cost well into the $30,000 mark, depending on how lavish you go. Why not opt for the next best thing? A Disney Vow Renewal cost a lot less and is a lot more affordable. Read more
