Tuesday Disney Tips: Getting Around at Walt Disney World

People generally like to know where they are going, how they will get there and how long their journey will take. Planning your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is no exception. With all Disney has to offer, there are so many different choices of where you will stay, play, and dine that you can be doing something different from every other visitor during each day of your trip. When planning a Walt Disney World itinerary, one of the most confusing topics seems to be how we will get around the resort area in the fastest, most efficient way possible.

One of the main things to remember is that Walt Disney World is a very large complex, 47 square miles to be exact. You can understand that it would take a little time to get from any point A to point B in the resort area. In addition to travel time, you must allow for waiting for the mode of transportation as well as allowing for getting to destinations without direct connections.

Tuesday Disney Tips: Monorail Mania Meal

Each year, I try to incorporate new activities into our trips to replace the special things we did when they were younger. One of the new favorite activities I began doing a few years ago is the “Monorail Mania Meal.” Being from an Italian family, most of our best visiting has often ensued in the kitchen around a meal, so I guess it is no stretch of the imagination that I began this tradition in the same way. Terrific Tuesdays: Surprises on the Great Movie Ride

It is hilarious to me how one can visit Walt Disney World every year and still be surprised by the goings on in the parks. Each time my family visits, we ride all of our favorite rides at each park; sometimes more than once. One of our favorites at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Great Movie Ride. We are all movie buffs so we really enjoy cruising along in the tram viewing old movie scenes and animatronic figures from some of our favorites like Mary Poppins, Singin’ in the Rain, and the Wizard of Oz. And, even though we know that the gangster will hijack our vehicle, and we know just about every line of the script, we still enjoy it just the same.
