We recently returned from sailing with the Disney Magic, where we got to enjoy their awesome new event, Marvel Day at Sea! This special day is full of Marvel-themed events, entertainment, characters, and more, and there was so much going on we didn’t have time to do it all! We still got to do so much that day, and here are all the fun things you’ll want to do on Marvel Day at Sea.
See Marvel Artists at Work
There were several events that are perfect for fans of Marvel comics, and our favorite was definitely getting to see an artist from Marvel draw and ink an awesome Spider-Man drawing while doing a Q&A. It was great to learn about the process of creating comics, and everything that goes into bringing our favorite Marvel characters to the page.
Activities for Kids, Tweens, and Teens
On Disney Cruise Line kids have their own exclusive club areas: the Oceaneer Club for kids, Edge for tweens, and Vibe for teens. These clubs also had their own fun Marvel events, including access to the Marvel comic vault to check out hundreds of Marvel comics, and in the Oceaneer Club the Marvel Avengers Academy was available for kids throughout the cruise to get in touch with their inner superhero. Marvel Day at Sea also had other fun activities for kids of all ages such as a costume celebration, drawing classes, and trivia contests.
Marvel Heroes Unite
After the sun went down, we got to see an incredible show featuring a huge cast of Marvel characters. Tony Stark is introducing some new technology at an expo onboard the Disney Magic, and invited many fellow Avengers to the event, but things predictably go wrong. This show was awesome and had so many unexpected moments – it was definitely at the top of our favorites list for that day.
Marvel Movies and Shows Throughout the Day
There’s a lot to do during Marvel Day at Sea, but if you need some time to relax, there were also Marvel films playing in the Buena Vista Theater, and popular Avengers and Spider-Man animated series playing on Funnel Vision on the pool deck.
Undoubtedly the thing we spent the most time doing was meeting all the Marvel superheroes (and villains), because there were so many of them! It’s the most Marvel superheroes you can meet in one place, and some are very difficult to find, or don’t appear at all, in the theme parks. Guests could also meet Mickey and friends dressed up as their favorite Marvel heroes!
Marvel Day at Sea was so much fun, and I highly recommend it for Marvel fans! Itineraries including Marvel Day at Sea are now available for 2019, so now’s a great time to start planning!
